Broadway Sessions celebrates the music of Thomson and Desmon, 3/1 BROADWAY SESSIONS is described as an evening of musical performances, games and open mic featuring a new Broadway guest each week. The show is created and hosted by Ben Cameron (Bway Wicked, Aida and Footloose) and features musical director Joshua Stephen Kartes on piano.  This Thursday night, March 1st,  Broadway Sessions welcomes and all star cast to sing the music of award winning musical theatre composers Thomson and Desmon. 

The Manhattan Association of Cabarets (MAC) is pleased to announce the 2018 MAC Award nominees. The nominees, in a majority of the categories, were determined by votes cast by the active MAC membership. The MAC Board of Directors selected the nominees for Show of the Year. Special committees selected the nominees in the Ensemble Instrumentalist, Piano Bar Instrumentalist, Piano Bar Singing Entertainer (Female; Male), Recording (LaMott Friedman), Major Recording, Song and Comedy/Novelty Song categories. The names of the songwriters in the Song and Comedy/Novelty Song categories are being withheld during the voting period, but will be announced publicly as soon as the voting period concludes.

 2017 Margaret Whiting Award winner JOSEPHINE SANGES taps into the Academy Award- winning songbook of HAROLD ARLEN ("I've Got The World on a String," "Stormy Weather," "Over the Rainbow, "Blues in the Night") with songs from Hollywood ("The Wizard of Oz," "A Star is Born") and Broadway ("St. Louis Woman," "House of Flowers") in her new show COME RAIN OR COME SHINE.

Two of the Rochester Broadway Theatre League's (RBTL's) local arts education program students, Avery Carlson of Williamson and Jack D'Angelo of Warsaw, have been selected to perform in Ben Cameron's 'Broadway Sessions' tonight, February 22, in New York City. Broadway Sessions is NYC's Ultimate Post-Theatre Extravaganza.

Amy Wolk and Nikki M. James present I Only Have Lies For You, a new live gameshow that pits Broadway panelists against each other in a lying contest. Two teams of three will go head-to-head telling stories, some of which may not be true---it is up to the other team to guess, Truth or Lie. Featuring musical direction by William TN Hall, panelists will defend their stories by all means possible, including song and dance. Hosted by MAC Award winner Amy Wolk, I Only Have Lies For You is presented monthly at the Laurie Beechman Theatre in New York City, and is being recorded as a podcast, which can be found on iTunes.

Ann Kittredge makes her Laurie Beechman Theatre debut for one night only on Monday, March 19th at 7pm. She returned to the stage this past year after a long absence, having performed on and off Broadway, in regional theater, as well as in film and television.

Bikini Bottom came to The Laurie Beechman Theatre recently as we welcomed the colorful cast of Spongebob Squarepants for our 2018 season kick off. The results were as delicious and hilarious as any pineapple under the sea. Enjoy these performances by Kelvin Moon Loh, Gaelen Gilliland, Abby C. The stars came out for prominent entertainment personality, Richard Skipper, Sunday, February 11, in celebration of the celebrator - his birthday. Producer RUSS WOOLLEY gathered some stunning talent to serenade the host with the most at the Laurie Beechman Theatre on 42nd Street with songs and stories bringing on laughter, tears, and a lots of applause.

Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff, Artistic Producer), New York City's award-winning pioneer in diversity and multi-ethnic casting in the performing arts since 1968, will celebrate its 49th Anniversary at its annual Gala Benefit on Monday, April 2, 2018 at the Baruch Performing Arts Center (East 25th Street between Lexington and 3rd Avenues). Honorary Chair for the event is Tony Award-nominated actor/singer and 2016 Rosie Award-winner Norm Lewis. Two-time Tony Award-nominee Brad Oscar will be Master of Ceremonies for the evening.

After scoring a twice-extended hit at The Celebration Theater in LA last year, Byron Lane's absurd comedy TILDA SWINTON ANSWERS AN AD ON CRAIGSLIST makes its New York Premiere. Directed by Tom Detrinis (Bright Colors and Bold Patterns), it stars Tom Lenk (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Rock of Ages on Broadway) as Tilda Swinton and co-stars Byron Lane, Jayne Entwistle (Feud, Desperate Housewives) and Mark Jude Sullivan (Pan Am). This limited engagement begins performances March 16 at The Laurie Beechman Theatre.
