Phoenix Theatre of Indianapolis presents the NNPN Rolling World premiere of Lauren Gunderson's I and You. Opening tomorrow, March 13, 2014 in the Frank and Katrina Basile Theatre at the Phoenix, this show runs through April 13, 2014 and will be directed by Indiana University Bloomington Professor Martha Jacobs. Marin Theatre Company's artistic director Jasson Minadakis has announced that Lauren Gunderson's I and You, which premiered at Marin Theatre Company in October with support from the National New Play Network's Continued Life of New Plays Fund, and Martín Zimmerman's Seven Spots on the Sun, which won MTC's 2012 Sky Cooper New American Play Prize and received a public staged reading at MTC in June 2013, have been selected as finalists for the 2014 Harold and Mimi Steinberg/American Theatre Critics Association New Play Award.
Noralee Monestere McKersie becomes MTC development director

Last week, Mill Valley resident Noralee Monestere McKersie became the development director of Marin Theatre Company. Formerly, the associate director of major and special gifts of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco and executive director of the Marin Symphony, McKersie assumed her full-time duties at MTC on February 18, 2014.

Josh Costello (San Francisco Playhouse, Marin Theatre Company, Impact Theatre) directs this smarty-pants celebration of history, language, academia, and religion, featuring Dan Hiatt (The Arsonists), Elizabeth Carter (Trouble in Mind), Jeremy Kahn, and Michael Stevenson. Olney Theatre Center, a Maryland destination for professional theater performance and education, will present the National New Play Network (NNPN) Rolling World Premiere of I And You by playwright Lauren Gunderson today, February 26 - March 23, 2014 in the Mulitz-Gudelsky Theatre Lab. Ms. Gunderson's play was just last week selected as a finalist for the prestigious Susan Smith Blackburn Award.

The Brand Signature Series at Aurora Theatre continues with The Unauthorized Autobiography of Samantha Brown by New York's best young composers, Kait Kerrigan and Brain Lowdermilk. The show runs March 13 through April 6, 2014. Samantha Brown is a girl who has what every teenager wants: brains, a boyfriend, functional parents and an acceptance letter to the college of her choice. Yet she sits in her car with her bags packed and can't turn the key in the ignition. At the crossroads to adulthood, will Samantha come to terms with her parents' expectations, her first love, and a lost friendship and start the car, drive away and find freedom?

PROFILE THEATRE has announced the titles for its 2014 In Dialogue Staged Reading Series, a program intended to explore and augment the mainstage season of plays by Sam Shepard. The plays are HUNGRY by Amy Claussen, BUENA VISTA by Edith Freni, and A LIE OF THE MIND by Sam Shepard. The readings will each have two performances, held at Profile's new home at Artists Repertory Theatre. Tickets are currently on sale at Profiletheatre.org.
Orlando Shakespeare Theater Now Accepting Submissions for 'PlayFest' 2014

Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF is seeking new full-length plays that speak to the human condition in a contemporary world. Topics may range from international headlines to interpersonal relationships, and both comedies and dramas are welcome. Seven of the new works submitted will be selected for readings in the Theater's annual new play festival PlayFest in November 2014, and considered for fully staged productions in future seasons.
