Playwright Lauren Gunderson's I and You will make its World Premiere with the Marin Theatre Company, directed by Sarah Rasmussen (of Oregon Shakespeare Festival's Black Swan Lab for New Work), and featuring Jessica Lynn Carroll (Bellwether) and Devion McArthur (MTC debut), October 10 - November 3, 2013. Opening Night is set for Tuesday, October 15, and previews run Thursday, October 10 - Sunday, October 13.

An audience of theatre enthusiasts waited in anticipation at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts last night, when Founding Artistic Director Robert Kelley and Managing Director Phil Santora of TheatreWorks, the nationally-acclaimed theatre of Silicon Valley, unveiled the thrilling line-up for its 2013-2014 season. Opening with a groundbreaking World Premiere developed at last season's New Works Festival, the line-up will also give Bay Area audiences their first look at a Broadway hit by playwright Jon Robin Baitz (The Substance of Fire, A Fair Country, Three Hotels); an Off-Broadway smash by Kenneth Lin (Fallow, Po Boy Tango); and a historical drama from Lauren Gunderson (Exit, Pursued by a Bear). Also announced is an enchanting musical journey told through little-known Stephen Sondheim gems.

WAM Theatre, recently announced as a finalist in the Creativity/Innovation category of the Berkshire Trendsetter awards, is delighted to present Claiming Her Place, a benefit for WAM to be held tonight, June 30 at 7pm at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center in Great Barrington. Co-produced and hosted by Tony nominee Jayne Atkinson, recently cast in The Lion in Winter at Berkshire Theatre Group, the evening will feature a celebrity panel discussing the challenges women face in the entertainment industry. The panel includes: Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under),Michel Gill (House of Cards), Marin Mazzie (Tony Nominee), Linus Roache (Law & Order) and Debra Jo Rupp (That 70's Show).

Coming in July, Know Theatre of Cincinnati will stir the cauldron of classic theatre with a modern take on Shakespeare's Macbeth. Toil and Trouble by Lauren Gunderson will open July 26, 2013 and run through August 24, 2013. This regional premiere is the second production following the play's world premiere at Impact Theatre in Berkeley, California. The cast is comprised of Breona Conrad, Joshua Murphy, and Chris Wesselman and is directed by Know Theatre's Producing Artistic Director Eric Vosmeier with lighting and scenic design by Andrew Hungerford, sound Design by Doug Borntrager, and costume design by Noelle Wedig.

Olney Theatre Center Artistic Director Jason Loewith announced the company would scrap its traditional subscription format while producing an ambitious slate of three seasons and nine productions for the Theatre's 2014 76th Anniversary Season. Three "mini-seasons" will feature Rolling World Premieres, 20th century American classics, four extraordinary musicals and an outdoor Shakespeare production beneath the stars.

WAM Theatre has announced the Northeast Regional Premiere of Emilie: La Marquise Du Chatelet Defends Her Life Tonight by Lauren Gunderson as its fall production. The production will run November 7-24 at Barrington Stage Company's St. Germain Stage at 36 Linden Street in Pittsfield. Auditions will be held May 13 at Barrington Stage Mainstage from 4-9pm.

Marin Theatre Company's artistic director Jasson Minadakis and managing director Michael Barker announced the company's 2013-14 season today. Featuring six productions in MTC's intimate 231-seat Boyer Theatre, the season includes the regional premiere of David Lindsay-Abaire's national sensation Good People; a revival of August Wilson's Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning play Fences;world premieres of I and You by Bay Area-based playwright Lauren Gunderson and Lasso of Truth, which MTC commissioned from Carson Kreitzer with the support of the National New Play Network; the west coast premiere of Philip Dawkins' "whimsical beyond all imagining" Failure: A Love Story; and a unique holiday production of Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol by Tom Mula. Based in Mill Valley, MTC is a 47-year old professional nonprofit theater, a destination for exhilarating performances, inspired new American plays and powerful theatrical experiences.
