Following accolades in Los Angeles, Cuba, and throughout the Latine theater community, Abrons Arts Center is proud to present the New York premiere of Zoetrope, a celebrated work by the bilingual theatrical ensemble Caborca that tackles the painful effects of U.S. colonialism on the Puerto Rican diaspora through the stories of one family.

New Ohio Theatre and IRT Theater will present the Archive Residency world premiere of TÉA Artistry's BEING CHAKA, May 6 - 27, 2023 in a limited engagement at New Ohio Theatre (154 Christopher St.) in New York City. Previews begin May 6 for a May 8 opening.

Necessary Digression in collaboration with Torn Page and The Martin E. Segal Center for Theatre Research as well as Colgate University will present two English Language premieres of celebrated Argentinian playwright Romina Paula, FAUNA (September 16 - October 1, 2022), translated by April Sweeney & Brenda Werth, directed by April Sweeney, and THE WHOLE OF TIME (October 21 - November 13, 2022), translated by Jean Graham-Jones and directed by Tony Torn.

New Ohio Theatre and IRT Theater's Archive Residency work-in-progress presentation of A Burning Church, with a book and direction by Alex Hare and Zhailon Levingston, music by Nehemiah Luckett and lyrics by Zhailon Levingston, begins performances on May 20 at New Ohio Theatre (154 Christopher Street) in New York City.

New Ohio Theatre and IRT Theater will present the Archive Residency world premiere of iNegro, a rhapsody, written and performed by Kareem M. Lucas, and production concept by Stevie Walker-Webb, and a work-in-progress presentation of A Burning Church.

New Ohio Theatre has announced that the 28th annual Obie Award-winning Ice Factory Festival will return to live in-person performances, featuring seven new works over seven weeks, June 30 - August 14, 2021, at New Ohio Theatre, located at 154 Christopher Street between Greenwich and Washington Streets in New York City.

Opera House Arts at the Stonington Opera House in Maine announced today the complete casts and creative teams for the company's 20th Anniversary Season, which includes Shakespeare in Love (July 18-28), based on the screenplay by Marc Norman and Tom Stoppard, adapted for the stage by Lee Hall as well as Avalon (August 15-25), a world-premiere by Melody Bates.

The Archive Residency is a vital incubator for New York City's most electrifying independent theater companies. This two-year residency offers companies an artistic home for the development and presentation of a new work. Each residency culminates with a world premiere production. Now in its sixth year, the Archive Residency is a collaboration between New Ohio Theatre and IRT Theater (likeminded neighbors in the historic Archive Building in the West Village).
