Great Barrington Public Theater Announces Six Weeks of New Plays

From late June to early August, Great Barrington Public Theater will bring a diverse six-weeks to the Daniel Arts Center, at Bard College at Simon's Rock, Great Barrington. Keeping with the Public's core mission, the 2021 program spotlights original work and new voices, largely comprised of local area talent.

Andre De Shields and Marylouise Burke Honored with Richard Seff Awards

Marylouise Burke (True West) and Andre De Shields (Hdestown) are the recipients of the annual Richard Seff Award presented by the Actors' Equity Foundation to veteran female and male character actors for the best performance in a supporting role in a Broadway or Off-Broadway production.  The announcement was made by Judy Rice, president of the Foundation, which administers the award.

Edward Albee's OCCUPANT Comes To Burchfield Penney

The Burchfield Penney Art Center at SUNY Buffalo State in collaboration with SuiteCase Productions will present Occupant, a play by Edward Albee for two performances Friday, March 29 - Saturday, March 30, 8 pm, in the Center's Tower auditorium. Tickets are $20 each; $10 for Burchfield Penney members. For reservations, please call (716) 878-6011 during museum hours.

It has just been announced that on April 26, Roundabout's acclaimed production of Steven Levenson's new play IF I FORGET will be captured on video by BroadwayHD, to be released on demand to BroadwayHD subscribers in Fall 2017 (date TBA).

Roundabout Theatre Company presents Roundabout Underground alumni playwright Steven Levenson's (Dear Evan Hansen The Unavoidable Disappearance of Tom Durnin) new play, If I Forget, directed by Daniel Sullivan, opening officially tomorrow, February 22, 2017 at the Laura Pels Theatre at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre. This is a limited engagement Off-Broadway through April 30, 2017.

Irish Rep to Stage Seamus Heaney's THE BURIAL AT THEBES

The Irish Repertory Theatre (Charlotte Moore, Artistic Director and Ciaran O'Reilly, Producing Director) presents its first production of 2016, THE BURIAL AT THEBES written by Irish Nobel Laureate Seamus Heaney, based on Sophocles' Antigone.  Directed by Charlotte Moore, THE BURIAL AT THEBES will now star two-time Emmy Award-winner and Tony nominee Larry Bryggman (Proof, Picnic, "As the World Turns") as Creon, The King of Thebes (who replaces the previously announced John Cullum), and Rebekah Brockman (seen as Nettie on the acclaimed Cinemax series "The Knick") as Antigone.  THE BURIAL AT THEBES will be performed Thursday, January 14 - Sunday, March 6, 2016.
