​​​​​​​Five Boroughs Music Festival (5BMF) co-presents the New York City debut of Boston-based arts institution Castle of our Skins in Love Affects at the Langston Hughes Auditorium at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture on Friday, November 18, 2022 at 7:00pm.

Beginning January 1, 2023, Davóne Tines will join BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music) as its first institutional artist in residence in more than a decade. During this time, Tines will deepen and investigate his musical practice by pursuing both independent and BAM-related projects.

Shriver Hall Concert Series (SHCS) — Baltimore's premier presenter of chamber music ensembles and solo recitalists — presents the Baltimore debuts of bass-baritone Davóne Tines and pianist Adam Nielsen in Tines' original program Recital #1: Mass on Sunday, November 6, 2022 at 5:30pm. The Town Hall has announced details on a series of concerts spotlighting four esteemed women composers who have shaped American culture over the decades: the “Mother of Contemporary Gospel music,” Dr. Elbernita “Twinkie” Clark; legendary singer-songwriter Judy Collins; acclaimed opera composer Laura Kaminsky; and trailblazing composer/singer Meredith Monk.

 Broadway Black presents The 2nd Annual Antonyo Awards, which honors Black theatre artists during the 2021-2022 season. The live, in-person ceremony will be held on Monday, October 10 at the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem (253 West 125th Street). Awards in 29 competitive categories and five honorary categories will be presented along with performances and guest appearances. 

Resonance Works will celebrate its tenth anniversary season with four powerful, intimate productions that showcase the depth and range of classical music performance, including two world premieres, orchestral favorites, awe-inspiring masterworks, and an evocative new opera. 

Sparks & Wiry Cries (Sparks), led by Co-Founders and Directors Martha Guth and Erika Switzer, will present its 2023 songSLAM Festival from January 10 to 13, 2023, in New York with events at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, DiMenna Center for the Arts, and Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture. 

At the Aug. 9 Irvine City Council meeting, Mayor Farrah N. Khan and members of the Irvine City Council made a formal proclamation honoring Pacific Symphony for its 35 years of service to the City of Irvine. The Symphony’s service began with the orchestra’s first concert at Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre during the summer of 1987. The summer concerts have continued since and are currently at Irvine’s FivePoint Amphitheatre.
