La Jolla Playhouse announces the cast and creative team for its west coast premiere production of QUEENS, by Martyna Majok. Directed by Carey Perloff, the show runs July 3 - 29. The cast features Jolly Abraham (Off-Broadway's Cost of Living) as "Aamani/Yara," Leslie Fray (TV's Elementary) as "Pelagiya/Dragana," Rae Gray (TV'sFear the Walking Dead) as "Inna/Tanya," Brenda Meaney (Off-Broadway's Party Face) as "Renia," Melissa Miller (Roundabout Theatre's Tartuffe) as "Agata" and Xochitl Romero (Playhouse's Kill Local) as "Isabela/Glenys."

Pageantry Meets Politics! Lauren Gunderson's THE TAMING Presented By Hub Theatre Company Of Boston

Hub Theatre Company of Boston will continue its sixth season with the Boston premiere of the politically-charged comedy The Taming by Lauren Gunderson at Club Cafe, 209 Columbus Ave. in Boston's Back Bay Friday, July13 through Saturday, July 28, 2018.  Performances are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm, and Sundays at 2 pm. All tickets to all performances are "Pay-What-You-Can."  A voter registration drive will be held in conjunction with this production and voter registration forms will be available at each performance.

The League of Chicago Theatres held the 2018 Annual Gala, an elegant event that brings together friends of Chicago theatre to raise funds for programs to support Chicagoland's more than 250-member theatre companies. The event, which had 245 attendees and raised $125,000, was held on Monday, May 21, 2018 at the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago, 120 E. Delaware Place.

Mara Isaacs, Director of Project Springboard: Developing Dance Musicals, today announced the recipients of the second annual residency awards: Bhangin' It, led by Rehana Mirza (co-book writer), Mike Lew (co-book writer), Sam Wilmott (composer/lyricist), Rujuta Vaidya (choreographer), and Amy Anders Corcoran (director); and The Night Falls, led by Troy Schumacher (director/choreographer, New York City Ballet soloist), Ellis Ludwig-Leone (composer/co-lyricist), and Karen Russell (book writer/co-lyricist, MacArthur Award winner and Pulitzer finalist). Sundance Institute Announces 2018 Theatre Lab Acting Company And Creative Advisors

Sundance Institute's Theatre Lab kicks off on May 6th, and today announced this year's participating acting company and creative advisors. The Lab, which runs through May 27 at the Fellah Hotel outside Marrakech, Morocco, is supervised by Artistic Director Philip Himberg and Producing Director Christopher Hibma, and is the centerpiece of the Institute's year-round work with the theatre community, alternating locations between Sundance Resort in Utah and a venue in the Middle East/North African region, as part of a multi-year commitment to international work and a means of facilitating cultural exchange between artists writing in English and Arabic.

La MaMa E.T.C. to Receive 2018 Regional Theatre Tony Award

Tony Awards® Administration Committee has announced that based on the recommendation by the American Theatre Critics Association, that La MaMa E.T.C. (Experimental Theatre Club) in New York City, NY, will be the recipient of the 2018 Regional Theatre Tony Award. The honor is accompanied by a grant of $25,000.
