High energy, enthusiasm and a night of incredible fundraising were dealt in spades when Broadway stars, industry insiders and fans raised a record $295,100 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS on Monday, May 14,2018, at the fourth edition of Broadway Bets, Broadway's official poker tournament.

New Dramatists, Tony® Honor recipient and the nation's premier playwright development laboratory, just honored Tony®and Academy Award-winner Denzel Washington at its 69th Annual Spring Luncheon tribute. Washington, currently starring on Broadway in The Iceman Cometh, directed by George C. Wolfe, received New Dramatists' 2018 Distinguished Achievement Award. Tributes to Mr. Washington and performances were presented by three-time Grammy Award-winner Branford Marsalis with bassist Noah Jackson, Tony®Award-winners George C. Wolfe and Stephen McKinley Henderson, Constanza Romero (August Wilson Estate), and Pulitzer Prize finalist and New Dramatists resident playwright Kristoffer Diaz (The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity).

Just last night, the 2018 Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway were handed out to recipients in 19 categories, with three honorary awards also bestowed. The Lortel Awards were distributed in a ceremony at NYU Skirball Center hosted by Meteor Shower co-stars Laura Benanti and Jeremy Shamos. This year's event was once again a benefit for The Actors Fund.

The 2004 film "Mean Girls" was written by Tina Fey. Now a Broadway musical version of the film has earned a whopping 12 Tony nominations. Fey tells TODAY that she was at the gym when she got the news, and "I started crying in the middle of Equinox." More on this story here.

ASTEP (Artists Striving to End Poverty) has added more performers to the lineup for their inaugural gala, "ASTEP & Friends," on Monday, April 23, at 54 Below. Joel Perez, Noah Ricketts, Carrie Manalakos, and Mean Girls' Kyle Selig join previously announced performers, including Tony Award nominees Kate Baldwin and Laura Osnes, as well as Mean Girls' stars Erika Henningsen and Grey Henson, Hamilton's Sean Green Jr., and Jessica Vosk.
MEAN GIRLS Releases New Block of Tickets, Now On Sale Through March 2019

Following last night's starry Broadway opening, Mean Girls, the new musical produced by Lorne Michaels, Stuart Thompson, Sonia Friedman, and Paramount Picturesbased on the hit film, is pleased to announce that tickets are now on sale for performances through March 31, 2019 at the August Wilson Theatre (245 West 52nd Street).
