Cinderella welcomed its first same sex proposal last night, September 4, directly following the 7:30pm show. The couple, Jason Aronne and Kunal Ghose, lives in San Diego and have been together for two years. Ghose said: 'Growing up in India you don't hear many western stories but you do read Cinderella and it left a lasting impression of finding 'happily ever after' on me. This would be a best place to start our happily ever after like Cinderella and her Prince.'

Audiences will be transported to 1950 where they will experience an evening in the rec room at Sunnyland: a hospital for the mentally insane. Inspired by American Horror Story: Asylum and inventively choreographed by Charlie Sutton (Kinky Boots, WICKED) this eerie imaginative new piece features dance and stars Broadway veteran Rachelle Rak* (FOSSE, Catch Me If You Can) with Purdie Baumann* (SMASH, Radio City Rockette), Kristine Bendul* (Cinderella, SMASH, Come Fly Away) and Alex Michael Stoll* (Evita, West Side Story).

CINDERELLA -- the Rodgers + Hammerstein musical now at the Broadway Theatre (1681 Broadway) -- played its 100th performance on Wednesday evening, May 29. The cast celebrated with a cake from Carlo's Bakery, home of TV's 'Cake Boss.' The musical began previews on January 25 and had its official opening night on March 3. Written for CBS-TV in 1957, this production of Rodgers + Hammerstein's CINDERELLA marks the musical's first-eve Broadway production, now in its 5th month of performances. The Friday, May 31st broadcast of WNBC-TV/Channel 4's program 'New York Live' seen weekdays at 12:30 p.m. will feature a backstage interview with CINDERELLA stars Laura Osnes and Santino Fontana.

Sundance Institute just presented playwright and Sundance Institute Theatre Lab alum Branden Jacobs-Jenkins with the first-ever Tennessee Williams Award from the Institute's Theatre Program, which supports the development of new work for the stage. Sundance Institute Emeritus Trustee Sally Field presented the honor and accompanying $10,000 grant at the Celebrate Sundance Institute benefit for its Theatre Program last night at Stephan Weiss Studio in Greenwich Village.
