Strawdog Theatre Company Opens Season with NEIGHBORHOOD 3, 10/7

Strawdog Theatre Company opens their 25th anniversary season with the Chicago premiere of Jennifer Haley's Neighborhood 3: Requisition of Doom, directed by Joanie Schultz, October 7 - November 10 at the Strawdog Theatre, 3829 North Broadway Street. The performance schedule is Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 4 p.m. Preview performance tickets are $15 with performances Thursday, Oct. 4 and Friday, Oct. 5 at 8 p.m. There is a benefit preview performance, Saturday, Oct. 6 at 7 p.m., $50 tickets include access to post-performance reception. Opening/Press Night is Sunday, Oct. 7 at 4 p.m. Tickets are $28 with group, senior and student discounts available. Thursday, Oct. 11 at 8 p.m. is an industry performance where available tickets are $10 for people presenting resumes or headshots. Theater Resources Unlimited Announces Honorees for 2012 Benefit; Jerry Mitchell, Van Dean Honored

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) will celebrate its 21st year as a not-for-profit service organization with their annual TRU Love Benefit, Making the Impossible Possible! honoring producer Van Dean of the Broadway Consortium; director-choreographer Jerry Mitchell and Broadway Bares; and legendary downtown entrepreneur Edith O'Hara and the 13th Street Repertory.

BRING IT ON Cast Album Gets 9/25 Digital Release!

Universal Pictures Stage Productions/Glenn Ross, Beacon Communications/Armyan Bernstein & Charlie Lyons and Executive Producers Kristin Caskey and Mike Isaacson are pleased to announce the release of the Original Broadway Cast Recording of Bring It On: The Musical. The album, produced by Ghostlight Records and available on Back Lot Music, will be released for digital download on iTunes beginning September 25, 2012 and in stores October 16, 2012. The cast of Bring It On recorded the album at MSR Studios in New York City on August 9, 10 and 16, 2012 under the direction of Album Producers Alex Lacamoire, Tom Kitt and Kurt Deutsch.

WICKED at the Fox Theatre Goes On Sale Today, 9/15

After breaking box office records in the three previous engagements, WICKED, Broadway's biggest blockbuster, will return to the Fox Theatre this holiday season from December 12, 2012 through January 6, 2013. Tickets for the return engagement go on sale today, September 15. Internet sales through metrotix.com will begin at 9 a.m.; the Fox Box Office and MetroTix charge by phone at 314-534-1111 will open at 10 a.m.

Photo Flash: TRACES Celebrates One-Year Anniversary

TRACES, the show that turns circus on its head, will conclude its New York engagement September 2, 2012, to embark on a European tour this fall. Created by the Montreal-based troupe 7 Fingers, TRACES has been playing the Union Square Theatre (100 East 17th Street) since July 2011. Originally intended as a 10-week limited engagement, the show opened to rave reviews, shifted to an open-ended run and, by the time of its final performance, will have played New York for over a year. Last night, August 9, the show celebrated its one-year anniversary. Check out photos from the event below!

BRING IT ON: THE MUSICAL Extends Broadway Engagement Through Jan 20!

Universal Pictures Stage Productions/ Glenn Ross, Beacon Communications/ Armyan Bernstein and Charlie Lyons and Executive Producers Kristin Caskey and Mike Isaacson have announced a 15-week extension to the limited engagement of Bring It On: The Musical at Broadway's St. James Theatre (246 W. 44thStreet). The show, which was scheduled to close on Sunday, October 7, 2012, will now play its final performance on Sunday, January 20, 2013.

Zooey Deschanel to Lead Broadway-Bound COAL MINER'S DAUGHTER as Loretta Lynn

In 1976, Coal Miner's Daughter, country star Loretta Lynn's autobiography (written with journalist George Vecsey) became a New York Times Bestseller; in 1980 the book was made into an Academy Award-winning film starring Sissy Spacek and Tommy Lee Jones. Now, it's headed for Broadway, with actress Zooey Deschanel playing Loretta Lynn.

David Mirvish presents an explosive new musical comedy in Toronto, opening tonight. Bring It On: The Musical will play for a strictly limited engagement tonight, May 2 through June 3, 2012 at the Canon Theatre. The production is the final show of the 2011-12 Mirvish Subscription Season.
