Once a staple of the popular Yiddish stage, Isaac Zolotarevsky's legendary 1910 melodrama Gelt, Libe, Un Shande will be presented on Monday, February 6th at 7 PM at the YIVO Institute for Jewish Research in a new English translation by writer/director Allen Lewis Rickman under the title MONEY, LOVE, AND SHAME! This one-night-only event will feature two-time Drama Desk Award winner Everett Quinton (The Mystery of Irma Vep, Camille, Natural Born Killers, Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella), Samantha Maurice (Much Ado About Nothing, The Grasshopper Way, The Winter's Tale), Allen Lewis Rickman ("Boardwalk Empire," "You Don't Know Jack," A Serious Man, Relatively Speaking), Yelena Shmulenson ("Boardwalk Empire," "Orange is the New Black," "The Knick"), Kevin Sebastian("Blue Bloods," "Bull," Goyband), Jacqueline Sydney (Filmic Achievement, The Prom Queen, Confess), and Kraig Swartz (A Picture of Autumn, Donogoo, So Help Me God!) MONEY, LOVE, AND SHAME! will be directed by Allen Lewis Rickman, with piano accompaniment by Steve Sterner (25 years as house pianist at Film Forum, where he accompanies classic silent movies with his own scores).

The Players has once again been recognized for their work during the 2016 Summer Season receiving 14 finalist nominations for the 2016 New Hampshire Theatre Awards. Of their 7 Main Stage productions this past Summer Season, 2 plays were eligible for consideration: Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike and The Ladies Man - the 14 finalist nominations are from those 2 productions in a variety of categories.

?The Peterborough Players Professional Theatre Company is proud to open its 2016 Summer Season with the play that won the 1988 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Alfred Uhry's Driving Miss Daisy. The play is a warm-hearted, humorous and affecting study of the unlikely relationship between an aging, crotchety white Southern lady, and a proud, soft-spoken black man. In its initial run, Driving Miss Daisy was an Off-Broadway success and became an Academy Award-winning film.

Peterborough is feeling a little more joyous this week. The Peterborough Players took home 7 New Hampshire Theatre Awards (NHTA) category wins for their 2015 productions of Outside Mullingar and Charley's Aunt. The 14th Annual NHTA awards gala was held at the Capitol Center in downtown Concord, New Hampshire last Saturday night, January 23rd. Here is the winners list for the Players:

Peterborough Players' INTIMATE EXCHANGES Begins Tonight

The Peterborough Players second play of the season is Alan Ayckbourn's comedy INTIMATE EXCHANGES. It debuts tonight, July 1st. Ayckbourn is regarded as England's Neil Simon with more than 70 plays spanning 5 decades. He is known for examining love, romance, marriage and relationships with comedy, wit and sharp dialogue. His plays include the award winning, Absurd Person Singular (produced twice by the Players in 1977 and 2013), The Norman Conquests. Bedroom Farce and A Chorus of Disapproval.
