Public Theater Artistic Director Oskar Eustis and Executive Director Patrick Willingham announced the line-up today for The Public’s 2021-22 Season, returning to their landmark home on 425 Lafayette Street after the year-long pandemic shutdown with a robust slate of new productions and ongoing  programming.

Five decades later, her luminescent presence shines brightly as new generations bask in the glow of her iconic 55-album body of worka?"and heed inspiration from her spiritual discipline to thrive in the music industry for half a century. The McCallum Theatre will welcome folk-music legend Judy Collins, with special guest Kirsten Maxwell, at 8:00pm, Tuesday, Feb. 25.

Joe's Pub, a program and venue of The Public Theater, has announced the new class of Joe's Pub Working Group (JPWG), the venue's artist development program dedicated to enhancing the career sustainability and growth of performing artists. Entering its sixth year, JPWG welcomes five artists - cabaret artist Salty Brine, vocalist and composer Sarah Elizabeth Charles, musician and musical theater composer Jaime Lozano, Indian classical and crossover vocalist Roopa Mahadevan, and singer-songwriter Kirsten Maxwell - into the group, which represents the diversity and scope of the nightly programming at Joe's Pub.

Alice Howe, the rising voice of modern folk in the United States, is set to release her debut LP, Visions on May 17th. Produced by iconic fretless bassist, Freebo (Bonnie Raitt, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Loudon Wainwright III, Maria Muldaur, Dr. John), the duo will perform on May 18th at McCabe's in Santa Monica, CA in celebration of the album's release. Ahead of Visions' official debut, the song “You Just Never Know,” premiered on The Bluegrass Situation.  Visions took Howe from her native Boston to Bakersfield, CA where it was recorded with a who's who of west coast musicians.

'Smoke from campfires, incense, tobacco and fried foods, along with farm-filtered air set us up for a series of performers that brought voices, songs and what someone once referred to as 'high profile' musicianship.'

On Saturday, April 2, Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts (PTPA) will reopen its doors to the general public for the Seventh Patchogue Folk Festival, after an extensive renovation of the historic venue's interior. This year the Chapin Family will headline the festival, which will begin with a free concert at 2 p.m. in Patchogue Theatre's revitalized lobby featuring Long Island musicians performing original music and folk favorites.
