Since 2005, more than 100 playwrights have had their work fostered through Center Theatre Group's L.A. Writers' Workshop and more are set to join. This new cohort for the L.A. Writers' Workshop includes six local playwrights who will spend a year researching and writing a new work with the feedback of their fellow writers and Center Theatre Group's artistic staff. These playwrights are Amy Berryman, Inda Craig-Galván, Isaac Gómez, Ramiz Monsef, christopher oscar peña, and Jasmine Sharma.

Irish Repertory Theatre and Fishamble: The New Play Company announced additional casting for the west coast dates for the inaugural readings of their first collaboration, the 2022-23 Transatlantic Commissions Program.

The Los Angeles City Council honored Center Theatre Group on March 10, 2023 by proclaiming Wednesday, March 15, 2023 as “TWILIGHT: LOS ANGELES, 1992” Day. Councilmembers Marqueece Harris-Dawson, Curren D. Price Jr., Heather Hutt, and Hugo Soto-Martinez presented the proclamation to Center Theatre Group's Associate Artistic Director Tyrone Davis on behalf of the theatre company.

Center Theatre Group will host a series of community events to celebrate “Twilight: Los Angeles, 1992,” which is returning to the Mark Taper Forum 30 years after its world premiere. Anna Deavere Smith's groundbreaking production has been revised for a cast of five performers and is directed by Gregg T. Daniel.

The 30th Annual Los Angeles Women's Theatre Festival (LAWTF) will honor seven women for their exceptional career and life achievements in the Opening Night Champagne GALA and Awards Ceremony on March 23, 2023 at 8:00 pm, preceded by a reception at 6:30 pm, at Barnsdall Gallery Theatre.

Ogunquit Playhouse, the crown jewel of the Maine Southern Seacoast and a renowned destination for regional theatre, is proud to announce that Deborah Warren will join Ogunquit Playhouse as the new Managing Director, beginning March 1, 2023. Warren's appointment follows a national search conducted by Tom O'Connor Consulting Group and led by a search committee of Playhouse Board and Staff.

Odyssey Theatre Ensemble will present a revival of Picnic, the sensual, passionate, and delightfully funny Pulitzer Prize-winning play by William Inge. Directed by multiple award winner John Farmanesh-Bocca (Tempest Redux, Lysistrata Unbound), performances will run March 25 through May 28 at the Odyssey Theatre in West L.A.

As Pulitzer Prize finalist and Los Angeles based writer/actor Kristina Wong continues the 2023 Kirk Douglas season with her hilarious and heartfelt one-person play, “Kristina Wong, Sweatshop Overlord,” Los Angeles audiences will have a variety of ways to engage with Wong and the community.

Rogue Machine is presenting the World Premiere of “COME GET MAGGIE” in Los Angeles beginning tonight. Written by Diane Frolov, with Lyrics by Diane Frolov and Susan Justin, and Music by Susan Justin, this intergalactic, joyously quirky new musical pays homage to all those with the courage to live life as their true selves. The production is directed by Michael Pressman and runs through March 26, 2023.

Melissa Errico plays Birdland Theater two shows nightly February 10th through the 14th with two shows nightly detailing her NOIR ROMANCE.
