The 5th Annual Boston Comedy Arts Festival heats up tonight, September 7 at 8 p.m., as Kids in the Hall member Kevin McDonald headlines a strong bill at the Brattle Theatre. The bill also features an appearance by the New York City based improvised hip-hOpera North Coast and stand-up comedy from Boston area native Josh Gondelman, the co-creator of the Modern Seinfeld Twitter feed.

UP Comedy Club is known for bringing the best stand-up comedy talent in the country to Chicago. This fall's line-up features many of the best known names in comedy today, including Greg Proops, Dave Foley, Tony Rock, Moshe Kasher, Carmen Lynch, Ian Bagg, Maz Jobrani, D.L. Hughley, Christopher Titus, Kyle Kinane and Loni Love. Each show includes a feature stand-up comic and a local emcee that hosts the evening. Additional special events scheduled for September include "Hollywood Said No!" with David Cross, Bob Odenkirk & Brian Posehn, and "Risk! Live" hosted by Kevin Allison. Dinner will be available before and during the show.

Oracle B*Sides is proud to announce the Chicago premiere of Martin Crimp's adaptation of Ferdinand Bruckner's PAINS OF YOUTH. This co-production with Odradek Theatre Company is directed by Joshua Altman. PAINS OF YOUTH opens September 21, 2013, and runs through October 13, 2013 at Oracle Theatre (3809 N Broadway in Chicago). Performances are Friday, Saturday, and Monday nights at 8PM; Sundays at 7PM.

Now in its fifth year, the Boston Comedy Arts Festival continues to kick-off the Fall with an explosion of comedy. This year, the festival runs from Tuesday September 3-Sunday September 8. It will include shows at ImprovBoston and at the Brattle Theatre. The festival begins with two performances from the famed Cambridge Footlights, and will also include shows with Kevin McDonald from Kids in the Hall and Jimmy Tingle. The festival will also see the return of improv from Junior Varsity and the Magnet Theater Tour Co. Stand-up highlights along with Jimmy Tingle include NYC comicsBoris Khyakin and Justin Williams, Boston comics Lamont Price and Matt D., and Matt White the winner of the 2013 Carolina's Funniest Comic. Reverb by Leslye Headland, will be directed by Jonathan Berry at Redtwist Theatre. The show opens today, May 18, at 3pm. This will be the Chicago premiere of Reverb, a darkly comic, brutal dissection of the deadly force of wrath in the playwright's cycle of the Seven Deadly Sins, featuring Redtwist company member and two-time, Jeff Award-winner, Peter Oyloe.

DSI Comedy Theater will bring Kevin McDonald, of Kids in the Hall, to the Cat's Cradle this summer. On Friday, June 21, McDonald takes the mic and the stage at the Cat's Cradle, 300 East Main Street. He will be joined by a line-up of some of North Carolina's most talented stand-up comedians and improvisers.
