Clybourne Park By Bruce Norris Directed by Steve Scott is extending through Sunday, November 24. This production is Jeff Recommended. The first Chicago storefront production of the Pulitzer Prize-winning drama featuring Redtwist leading man and Jeff-Award-winner, BrIan Parry, and company members, Jan Ellen Graves and Michael Sherwin.

A thematic descendant of Lorraine Hansberry's A Raisin in the Sun, this Pulitzer Prize-winning drama is a merciless satire on American race relations, targeting a quaint Chicago neighborhood. Act I focuses on the cozy post-war era in 1959 when a black family is moving into an all-white community. Act II takes us back to the exact same house 50 years later, when a white family begins the gentrification of a now black community.

INTERESTING TIDBITS All of the cast and staff reside in the Chicago area and have a unique perspective regarding Chicago neighborhood dynamics. Several cast members were born and raised in Chicago-Jan Ellen Graves (north side), Frank Pete (south side). One cast member is a real estate agent-Kelly Owens, and another-Carley Moseley, is the daughter of a real estate agent. Director Steve Scott is the Associate Producer at Goodman Theatre, a member of the Goodman's Artistic Collective, and is a faculty member of the Theatre Conservatory of the College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University. He has known the playwright, Bruce Norris, since he was a student at Northwestern University-first, as Bruce worked as an actor at the Goodman in the 90s, and then as a playwright.
