Ford's Theatre Society celebrated the legacy of President Abraham Lincoln at its Annual Gala on Sunday evening, June 2, 2019, at Ford's Theatre (511 10th Street NW). For more than 40 years, the Society has hosted this bipartisan event, which provides crucial support to the non-profit's theatrical and educational programs.

Today, the Recording Academy welcomed the announcement of the members of the bipartisan Recording Arts and Sciences Congressional Caucus for the 116th Congress, chaired by House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.). Established in 2005, the caucus works with music creators to understand the economic and cultural impact of the music business on legislation.

The New York Times Critics' Pick production, which garnered unanimous rave reviews this past Spring at the Gene Frankel Theatre, offers up dynamic and often hilarious insight into a capitalist society's attempts to make socio-cultural progress in a world polarized by its moral and political outrage…or lack thereof. Jeffrey Wise will direct the production that will run through Today, November 29th. The official opening is set for Tuesday, October 23rd. Just in time for the spring season Goldenstein Gallery is bringing back it's popular series Artists Coffee Talks in the Gallery. Often when someone engages with their favorite artists it's in a busy setting such as a reception or other public event. They walk away yearning for more of a personal connection, finding themselves wishing that they could just sit with them, enjoy a cup of coffee and get to know the artist and art better. They could learn what inspires the artist and about individual art pieces. Facilitating this type of personal connection is the inspiration behind Goldenstein Gallery's popular series Artists Coffee Talks. Curated by Linda Goldenstein, this exciting series kicks off on Saturday, April 21 at 9:30 a.m. with artists Karyl Bennett and Reagan Word as part of a five part series this season. On April 21, 28, May 5, 12 and June 2, you are invited to meet and enjoy Coffee Talk with different artists at Goldenstein Gallery.

Following the performance, Mr. Clark will take part in a talk-back where he will speak about his friendship with Mr. Vonnegut as well as his experience collaborating on the opera of Happy Birthday, Wanda June.
