Directed by Sam Mendes, The Lehman Trilogy weaves through nearly two centuries of Lehman lineage, following the brothers Henry, Emanuel, and Mayer Lehman from their 1844 arrival in New York City to the 2008 collapse of the financial firm bearing their name. Adam Godley, Ben Miles, and Simon Russell Beale play the Lehman brothers, and a cast of characters including their sons and grandsons. Set to a backdrop of great men and women throughout history, the audience is immersed in a brief moment of history while seated looking at a grand staircase as the focal point for the room. As a usual theatre endeavor guest were checked in at the door, and some made their way to the concession area. Offered amidst the array of beer, wine and coffee was what seemed to be a delightful offering of chicken salad or house made chips. Opting for the Pinot Noir I made my way forth to the room adjacent which housed the grand staircase in which tonight's performance would be taking place.
