A fairy tale comes to life when the Nevada Ballet Theatre presents Hansel and Gretel at The Smith Center from May 15-24.

Costume designer Paul Tazewell won the Excellence in Sci-Fi/Fantasy Film award for Wicked: For Good at the 28th Costume Designers Guild Awards, which took place on Thursday, February 12.

Jessie Buckley won the Critics Choice Award for Best Actress for her performance in the film adaptation of Hamnet. Wicked: For Good, which received 7 nominations, did not win any. Check out the full list here!

Wicked: For Good has received 7 nominations at the 31st annual Critics Choice Awards, including Best Picture. Other notable nominees in various categories include Hamnet, Blue Moon, The Testament of Ann Lee, and Kiss of the Spider Woman.

NAC Dance’s presentation of The Royal Winnipeg Ballet's Hansel & Gretel is completely unhinged, in the best possible way. It is definitely not a traditional retelling of the Brothers Grimm fairytale. In an unlikely blend of film noir, vaudeville, Broadway, and the Golden Age of Hollywood films, Hansel & Gretel includes classical ballet, contemporary dance, and even jazz hands. Should it work? Not a chance. Does it work? A thousand times, yes!

Central Works' season continues with The Last Goat, written and directed by Gary Graves, in which a young woman lives alone with her grandmother on an isolated Greek island, desperately longing to see the world. 

Santa Cruz Shakespeare today announced it will open its summer season with the exciting World Premiere of The Formula by Kathryn Chetkovich, directed by Ellen Maguire in a co-production with Blissfield, during its summer festival July 10-Aug. 28 in the Audrey Stanley Grove in DeLaveaga Park.

Portland Stage's second season offering, Kate Hawley's 2015 play about siblings and their mother confronting dementia, Complications from a Fall, addresses an issue of consequence but while it has its moments of warmth and truth, never quite rises to the challenge of truly articulating something significant about the aging process.
