BWW Review: Get Thee to SOMETHING ROTTEN! at Marriott Theatre

Chicagoans, lend me your ears: SOMETHING ROTTEN! has landed in Lincolnshire (the one due north of Chicago, not the one due east of Liverpool), and Marriott Theatre's regional premiere is a must-see for fans of musicals, Shakespeare, and comedy. Nominated for ten Tony Awards when it opened on Broadway in 2015, this madcap musical by Karey Kirkpatrick, John O'Farrell, and Wayne Kirkpatrick is in excellent hands with director Scott Weinstein, choreographer Alex Sanchez, and music director Ryan T. Nelson.

Moonlight Stage Productions Announces 40th Anniversary Season

For the first-time ever, Moonlight Stage Productions will produce five musicals as part of its 40th anniversary season in 2020. The season's expansion of an additional show celebrates The Moonlight's landmark record of 40 continuous years of producing award-winning and critically acclaimed musicals at the Moonlight Amphitheatre.

Jerry Zaks To Direct Pre-Broadway MRS. DOUBTFIRE at Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre This Fall

Producer Kevin McCollum announced today that the new musical, Mrs. Doubtfire, will premiere at Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre this fall on route to Broadway.  The musical features a book Karey Kirkpatrick and John O'Farrell and music and lyrics by Wayne Kirkpatrick and Karey Kirkpatrick, the Tony Award nominated team behind Something Rotten!  Four-time Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks (Hello, Dolly!) will direct and Lorin Latarro (Waitress) will choreograph.  Ethan Popp (Tina) will serve as Music Supervisor.

Musical Theatre West Announces 2019-2020 Season

Musical Theatre West (MTW) returns to the Carpenter Performing Arts Center with a line-up of West Coast regional premieres, Tony Award -winning classics, and a new family favorite, opening with the West Coast regional theater premiere of Something Rotten! (October 18 November 3, 2019); Ragtime (February 7 - 23, 2020); Mame (March 27 - April 12, 2020); and the West Coast Regional Premiere of Treasure Island (July 10 - 26, 2020).

Rob McClure & Kate Baldwin Will Lead Reading of MRS. DOUBTFIRE Musical

As BroadwayWorld reported last summer, Alchemation and Kevin McCollum plan to bring a musical version of MRS. DOUBTFIRE to Broadway! Four-time Tony Award Winner Jerry Zaks will direct, joined by Tony Award Nominees John O'Farrell and Karey Kirkpatrick (book) and Karey and Wayne Kirkpatrick (music and lyrics).

Beck Center's 2019-20 Professional Theater Season Announced

Beck Center for the Arts is pleased to announce its 2019-2020 Professional Theater Season filled with signature eclectic and diverse titles that include modern classics, regional premieres, and the ninth annual collaboration with Baldwin Wallace University Musical Theatre program.  

SOMETHING ROTTEN! Heads to Akron May 14 & 15

The completely original new musical Something Rotten!, originally directed and choreographed on Broadway by Tony Award-winner Casey Nicholaw (Mean Girls, The Book of Mormon, Aladdin), with music and lyrics by Grammy Award-winner and Tony Award nominee Wayne Kirkpatrick and Golden Globe Award and Tony Award nominee Karey Kirkpatrick and a book by Tony Award nominees Karey Kirkpatrick and best-selling author John O'Farrell, will play Akron's E.J. Thomas Hall May 14 and 15, 2019 as part of the 18-19 Broadway in Akron series.

Taking the stage at the Washington Pavilion April 23-25, the completely original new musical SOMETHING ROTTEN! Nominated for 10 Tony Awards including Best Musical, SOMETHING ROTTEN! is "a deliriously entertaining new musical comedy that brings down the house!" (New York Post).

Something Hysterical! Something Spectacular! Something Sensational! SOMETHING ROTTEN At The McCallum

The McCallum Theatre presents Something Rotten! for five performances, Friday, April 5, through Sunday, April 7. This hilarious musical comedy tells the story of brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom, two playwrights stuck in the shadow of that Renaissance rock star Will Shakespeare. When a soothsayer foretells the next big thing in theatre involves singing, dancing and acting at the same time, the Bottom brothers set out to write the world's very first musical! With the most singing, the most dancing, and the most gut-busting laughs on Broadway, it's something wonderful and something for everyone.

Harris Center Welcomes The National Tour Of SOMETHING ROTTEN!

It's an increasing rarity among Broadway musicals: a completely original work not based on a movie, play, book or other source material. With 10 Tony nominations including Best Musical, Something Rotten! is a "fresh, irreverent and hysterical" musical (Associated Press) coming to the Harris Center for five performances.

OPAS Presents SOMETHING ROTTEN!

Presented by OPAS at Texas A&M University, the 10-time Tony Award nominated musical Something Rotten! will be in Rudder Auditorium on Saturday, February 23 (7:30 PM) and Sunday, February 24 (3:00 PM). Tickets are available to both performances at MSC Box Office (979-845-1234) and online at www.MSCOPAS.org. Something Rotten! is presented as part of the 2018-19 Ann Cobb Wiatt Main Stage series.
