American Theater Company to Co-Produce World Premiere of Thomas Bradshaw's FULFILLMENT

American Theater Company (ATC), 1909 W. Byron Street, kicks off Season 31: The Legacy Season with the co-world premiere of Fulfillment, written by Thomas Bradshaw and directed by Ethan McSweeny, Nov. 6-Dec. 13, 2015 (press opening Thursday, Nov. 12). This production is a co-world premiere with The Flea Theater in New York, where Fulfillment opens under McSweeny's direction next month.

Lookingglass Theatre Extends MOBY DICK

Due to ticket demand, Lookingglass Theatre Company has added three weeks of performances to the World Premiere of Moby Dick, adapted and directed by ensemble member David Catlin from the book by Herman Melville, produced in association with The Actors Gymnasium. Moby Dick, which was originally scheduled through August 9, is now running June 10 - August 28, 2015 at Lookingglass Theatre Company, located inside Chicago's historic Water Tower Water Works, 821 N. Michigan Ave. at Pearson.  The Press Opening is Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 7:30 p.m.

Casting Set for Court Theatre's Spring Premiere of Peterson & O'Hare's THE GOOD BOOK

Court Theatre Artistic Director Charles Newell and Executive Director Stephen J. Albert present the world premiere of The Good Book by Denis O'Hare and Lisa Peterson, directed by Lisa Peterson. The Good Book runs March 19 - April 19, 2015 at Court Theatre, 5535 S. Ellis Avenue. Press Opening is Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 8:00PM.

American Theater Company Extends THE HUMANS into January

To accommodate the huge demand for tickets, American Theater Company (ATC), 1909 W. Byron Street, has added performances and extended the run of the critically-acclaimed new play, The Humans, written by Pulitzer Prize finalist and ATC signature playwright Stephen Karam and directed by ATC Artistic Director PJ Paparelli.

ATC to Present THE ROYALE by ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK's Marco Ramirez in 2015

American Theater Company (ATC) continues its 30th Anniversary Season with the premiere of a revised version of The Royale by Orange is the New Black and Sons of Anarchy writer Marco Ramirez, directed by ATC Ensemble Member Jaime Castañeda, January 30 to March 8, 2015. American Theater Company Continues 30th Anniversary Season with Stephen Karam's THE HUMANS

American Theater Company (ATC), 1909 W. Byron Street, continues its 30th Anniversary season with the World Premiere of The Humans, written by Pulitzer Prize finalist and ATC signature playwright Stephen Karam and directed by ATC Artistic Director PJ Paparelli,November 14 - December 21; with an official opening night of Monday, November 17. The Humans is produced here under special arrangement with New York's Roundabout Theatre Company where it will premiere in New York next season.

Gift Theatre's OTHELLO Opens Tonight

The Gift Theatre's contemporary production of Othello, starring Kareem Bandealy as Othello and artistic director and ensemble member Michael Patrick Thornton as villainous Iago, began previews on July 10. Directed by Jonathan Berry (Dirty), this marks The Gift Theatre's first Shakespeare production ever mounted in its intimate 40-seat theater and Berry's Shakespearean directorial debut. Othello runs tonight, July 17-August 24 at The Gif.

American Theater Company announces the final production of its 30th Anniversary season: the world premiere of The Project(s), a documentary play on Chicago's public housing, conceived, co-written, and directed by ATC Artistic Director PJ Paparelli and co-written by Joshua Jaeger.

ATC Announces AracaWorks: Chicago; Replaces 'LITTLE SHOP' with New Musical

American Theater Company announces a new partnership with The Araca Group (Broadway producers of Urinetown, Frankie and Johnny in the Claire de Lune, The Wedding Singer, Lend Me a Tenor, and A View From the Bridge, among others) in the development of new American plays in Chicago. The two organizations will partner to produce AracaWorks: Chicago, a weekend of readings of world premiere American plays from August 7-9, 2014 in Chicago. One of the three plays will receive a year of development, including a workshop production the following summer at ATC.

The Gift Theatre has announced that Kareem Bandealy will star as Othello and artistic director and ensemble member Michael Patrick Thornton will play villainous Iago in its production of William Shakespeare's tragedy Othello, directed by Jonathan Berry (Dirty). This marks The Gift Theatre's first Shakespeare production ever mounted in its intimate 40-seat theater and Berry's Shakespearean directorial debut.
