Troy West and More to Star in BENGAL TIGER AT THE BAGHDAD ZOO at Lookingglass Theatre; Full Cast Announced!

Continuing its 25th Anniversary Season, Lookingglass Theatre Company presents the 2010 Pulitzer Prize Finalist Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo, written by Rajiv Joseph and directed by Ensemble Member Heidi Stillman. Tickets are now on sale for the production, running January 30 - March 17, 2013 at Lookingglass Theatre Company, located inside Chicago's historic Water Tower Water Works, 821 N. Michigan Ave. at Pearson. The Press Opening is Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 7:30 p.m.

Writers' Theatre Extends HAMLET thru November 25

Writers' Theatre, under the direction of Artistic Director Michael Halberstam and Executive Director Kathryn M. Lipuma, announces added performances of Hamlet, written by William Shakespeare and directed by Artistic Director Michael Halberstam. 3Arts today announced this year's twelve recipients of the 3Arts Awards. The awards were presented by the 3Arts Board of Directors and Awards Host Committee in a celebratory gathering at the Museum of Contemporary Art on Monday, October 3, 2011.

American Theatre Company's DISGRACED Coming to Broadway?

According to the Chicago Tribune, American Theatre Company's Artistic director PJ Paparelli has announced that their upcomig production of DISGRACED is ' a possible pre-Broadway tryout. The play, written by Ayad Akhtar, is about 'a Muslim-American lawyer tyring to climb the corporate ladder at some cost to himself.' New York producers the Araca Group is backing the project. Openi ng night is set for February 6.

David Cromer to Direct American Theatre Company's RENT?

According to the Chicago Tribune, David Cromer is currently in talks to dierct the American Theater Company production of RENT, which runs May-July 2012. Artistic director PJ Paparelli to the Tribune: 'It depends on David's schedule. We won't know for a couple of weeks.'
