The New York Pops, led by Music Director and Conductor Steven Reineke, recently gave a concert entitled Movie Mixtape: Songs from the Silver Screen, on Friday, March 15 at 8:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall.

The New York Pops celebrated the holidays with Under the Mistletoe, December 21 and 22 in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall.

The New York Pops just hosted its annual cabaret fundraiser at Feinstein's/54 Below starring Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Award winner Faith Prince. The event was hosted by New York Pops Music Director Steven Reineke.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series presented the return of Broadway singer/actor Max von Essen in concert last night, July 23. Max von Essen, currently starring in the hit Broadway production of Anastasia, returned with his old fashioned, new show celebrating the best of Broadway and the American songbook. Once again, Billy Stritch was musical director for the evening, with Steve Doyle on bass, Daniel Glass on drums, and Mairi Dorman-Phaneuf on cello.

Just last night, The New York Pops celebrated its 34th birthday with a grand gala evening honoring Karen van Bergen, the CEO of Omnicom Public Relations Group, and Tony Award winners Kelli O'Hara and Bartlett Sher, whose collaborations over the last decade have won universal acclaim and whose individual careers represent pinnacles of achievement in the world of theatre. The concert celebrated the multi-year partnership between the actress and stage director and will bring together artists from the stage and screen.

Maestro Steven Reineke lifted his baton, pointed to a first tier box and started the New York Pops playing probably the most well known song ever written as he led the audience in Happy Birthday to soon to be 90 year old John Kander.  BroadwayWorld was there for the opening night exciting concert which celebrated the music of the award winning song writers, the legendary Kander & Ebb.  Cassie Levy and Tony Yazbeck, the triple threat singer, actor, dancers were the concerts guest artists. Probably not since Vladimir Horowitz had a nail tapped into Carnegie's stage for his piano placement has there been better tapping (dancing) than Mr. Yazbeck displayed at this concert.  As in every New York Pops Concert, the joy of the music continues as Steven Reineke hosts an after party.

After a thrilling concert which featured the The Soldiers' Chorus of The US Army Field Band, Maestro Steven Reineke and The New York  Pops hosted an after party across the street from Carnegie Hall.  

The New York Pops family gathered at The National Arts Club on May 18th to celebrate the life of Ruth Henderson who passed away at her home in New Milford, Connecticut on February 25th 2015. In 1983, Skitch and Ruth Henderson founded The New York Pops. Chris Poe, President of The National Arts Club welcomed the guests and introduced James A. Read Board Chairman of the New York Pops. Many friends spoke of the dynamic, caring, beautiful and inspiring person that Ruth was. In 1991 Ruth established the PopsEd program, Kids In The Balcony, which provides free tickets to students for New York Pops Concerts.  Steven Reineke, music director of The Pops presented board member June Freemanzon, long time friend of the Henderson's with a framed photograph of one of the few pictures that exist of the two music directors of The New York Pops. Steven then sat at the the piano and played "Einsamkeit" a composition composed by Skitch Henderson for Ruth Henderson.  The afternoon was truly A Celebration of the Life of Ruth Henderson.

Leonard Bernstein titled a book 'The Joy Of Music'. The first time I attended a New York Pops concert with Steven Reineke at the helm that's the first thing I thought of. By the time the last note was played I realized the Pops new music director was much more than that. Steven also represents The Joy Of Life. Then, Steven met Eric, an equivalently matched person with whom to travel on life's journey.

Having garnered acclaim for performances on stage and screen,Megan Hilty makes her Cafe Carlyle debut in a two-week engagement, now through June 7. She performs songs from the television show 'Smash,' in which she starred, as well as selections from American Songbook and jazz standards. Hilty is joined by Music Director Matt Cusson on piano, Brian Gallagher on guitar, Ryan Hoagland on percussion and Dennis Keefe on bass.

The New York Pops marked its 31st birthday with a grand gala evening last night, celebrating the work of composer, lyricist, and arranger Marc Shaiman and director, lyricist, and writer Scott Wittman, as well as the leadership and mentorship work of corporate honoree Paul J. Massey, Jr., CEO and Founding Partner of Massey Knakal Realty Services. Gala Co-Chairs include Neil Heilberg, Todd Korren, William C. Montana, and James A. Read. Serving as Honorary Co-Chairs for the event are stars Matthew Broderick, Debra Messing, and Sarah Jessica Parker. Steven Reineke, Music Director and conductor of the New York Pops greeted concert goers at a party at The Red Eye Grill after the 'On Broadway' concert at Carnegie Hall. On Broadway is an evening which celebrated some of Broadway's most unforgettable hits from the past and present. The sold out concert featured Stephanie J. In collaboration with the NYC Department of Education's Borough-Wide Band and Orchestra program, KIDS ON STAGE allows middleschool students the opportunity to experience the professional performance process from the first audition to the final note. This year's finalists included: Sophia Atlas-Ruggirello, Isabel Bruschi, Kaitlyn Cao, Matthew Cuji, Marvin Carter, Zachary Davis, Melissa Dookie, Olivi Dul, John Fabrizio, Christopher Ferdinand, Magdalena Garandza, Chelsea Jordan, Miles Keingstei, Justin Laurenceau, Christopher Rush, Joshua Sipson, Liuxi Sun, David Valderrama, Jason Whitelaw and Margaret Wu.

On Monday, September 23, Laura Osnes and Santino Fontana performed an intimate benefit concert titled Remember When…. The New York Pops at 54 Below (254 West 54th Street). Music Director Steven Reineke hosted the evening, which was a joint benefit in support of The New York Pops Education Programs at Ronald McDonald House New York, which provide creative outlets to the children and families in residence.
