Former Motown The Musical cast member Julius Thomas III has garnered a nomination for the Annual NAACP Theatre Awards.

Jayne Ackley Lynch Productions today announced staged readings for the new American musical Far From the Madding Crowd, directed by Hunter Foster with choreography by Lorin Latarro.

Despite clunky writing, Berry Gordy's autobiographical musical is packed with great songs and terrific performances.

The best of Broadway will be performing FREE on six consecutive Thursdays this summer with '106.7 LITE FM's Broadway in Bryant Park 2016, continuing this Thursday, July 14 (12:30pm) on the Bryant Park Stage. Hosted by LITE FM's on-air personalities, the 16th annual presentation of open-air, On- and Off- Broadway lunch hour performances will run through Thursday, August 11. National Corporate Theatre Fund (NCTF) and Chairman James S. Turley will lead a celebration to support American theatre at the annual Chairman's Awards Gala on Monday, April 13th at The Pierre New York (2 East 61st Street at Fifth Avenue) at 6:30pm. The touring production of MOTOWN the Musical sent a special 'Happy Trails' to the Broadway Production of MOTOWN, closing today, Sunday Jan. 18. With direction and arrangement by Jesse Nager (Smokey Robinson) the video features Julius Thomas III (Berry Gordy), Allison Semmes (Diana Ross), Jarran Muse (Marvin Gaye), Krisha Mercano (Suzanne De Passe), and Rod Harrelson (dance captain), all of whom joined the tour from the Broadway company. Producers Kevin McCollum, Doug Morris and Berry Gordy have announced that MOTOWN THE MUSICAL original Broadway cast member Julius Thomas III will join the First National Tour for a limited engagement in the leading role of Berry Gordy on Friday, December 12.

WITNESS UGANDA, created by Matt Gould and Griffin Matthews, which had its premiere at A.R.T. earlier this year under the direction of Diane Paulus, will receive an upcoming reading in New York City, produced by Kevin McCollum and Ashley Melone. Much of the cast from the reading is returning from the ART production.
