Tonight, October 9, noted orchestrator and conductor Fred Barton will bring the music of Broadway and the American Songbook to the Schimmel Center at Pace University, in American Showstoppers: An Evening of Johnny Mercer. In his seventh concert at Pace, Fred Barton now brings the power of Mercer's music and lyrics front and center, with a 14-piece orchestra and a cast of 16 Broadway singers and dancers, with direction and choreography by Scott Thompson. The cast is headlined by Damon Kirsch, Tony nominee Lee Roy Reams, two time Tony nominee Vivian Reed, Nick Spangler, Tony Nominee Lauren Worsham, and Tony Award winner Karen Ziemba. The cast also features Jesse Luttrell, Sean McGibbon and Molly Pope.

Closing their 2015 theater season, Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater (WHAT) presents Thrill Me: The Leopold and Loeb Story, with book, music and lyrics by Stephen Doginoff. Thrill Me is a musical theatrical event that recounts the chilling, true story of the legendary duo who committed one of the most infamous and heinous crimes of the twentieth century. Focusing on their obsessive relationship and utilizing Leopold's 1958 parole hearing as a framework, Thrill Me reveals the series of events in 1924 Chicago that led about-to-be law students Leopold and Loeb to be forever remembered as 'the thrill killers.' Thrill Me runs October 24 through November 8 at WHAT.

(Janet McCall and David Spaulding, producers) with the New York premiere of THE WIDOW OF TOM'S HILL, written by Aleks Merilo and directed by Rachel Black Spaulding. THE WIDOW OF TOM'S HILL begins performances on Thursday, October 29 for a limited engagement through Sunday, November 15. Press opening is Tuesday, November 3 at 7:30 PM. 'Tis the season! Step Up Productions is pleased to continue its 2015-16 season with the return of its wildly popular HOLIDAZE, a hilarious and heartwarming line-up of original holiday-themed short works by Jake Carr, MT Cozzola, Mia McCullough, Steven Simoncic, Steven Peterson and Joshua Rollins. Some of Broadway's biggest names will come to Philadelphia's Kimmel Center this season in a series produced by Mark Cortale and hosted by the man The New York Times called the 'Mayor of Broadway,' Sirius XM star Seth Rudetsky.  First up will be Audra McDonald - the historic 6-time Tony-winner and star of Broadway's "Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill," "Porgy and Bess," "Ragtime," "Master Class" and TV's "Private Practice" -  for one show only on Wednesday, October 7 at 8:00 PM.

There are so many people in this world that are fascinated by such a myriad of things, but regardless of what that interest may be, each of those individuals shares a certain something with their fellow aficionados: they believe in that power of that hobby, that job or whatever it may be deemed to compel him or her towards happiness - towards the discovery of what makes their lives worth while. Audra McDonald has a big year ahead of her! After embarking on a concert tour this fall, the six-time Tony winner, who recenty wrapped filming for Disney's live action Beauty and the Beast, will be back on Broadway, starring alongside Brian Stokes Mitchell, Billy Porter, Joshua Henry and Brandon Victor Dixon in SHUFFLE ALONG. Before all of that, McDonald will head to Provincetown, MA to take part in the acclaimed Broadway @ Town Hall concert series, hosted by SiriusXM radio star Seth Rudetsky. For one show only on Monday, August 24 (6:30 PM), she will be joined onstage by her husband and fellow Broadway star Will Swenson, with whom she is currently starring in Williamstown Theatre Festival's A MOON FOR THE MISBEGOTTEN. Legendary Broadway producer, manager and agent Samuel 'Biff' Liff passed away yesterday, August 10, at his home in Westchester County, NY. He was 96. Liff's longtime friend Emanuel Azenberg, confirmed the news to Deadline this afternoon.

TheaterWorks in Hartford is closing out its 29th season with the one-woman talk fest based on one of Hollywood's first female super agents:  Sue Mengers.   "Gossip is mother's milk to me," she says, and, indeed, the performance is an 80 minute dish session without intermission.
