Tony Vincent, Haley Swindal & More Join THE WHOLE MEGILLAH Lineup at Feinstein's/54 Below

FEINSTEIN'S/54 Below, Broadway's Supper Club, presents "THE WHOLE MEGILLAH" on March 24, 2016 at 9:30pm. From Adam Spiegel and Dan Wolpow, the writers of Cloned! (NYMF 2014 Best of Fest Audience Prize and New York Times Critic's Pick), The Whole Megillah! is a raucous, raunchy and ribald take on the Book of Esther, which tells the ridiculous story of the Jewish holiday of Purim. 

FRIEND ART and ENGAGEMENTS Slated for Second Stage Uptown Series

Second Stage Theatre will present the world premiere of Sofia Alvarez's FRIEND ART, directed by Portia Krieger, and the New York premiere of Lucy Teitler's ENGAGEMENTS as part of the company's fourteenth annual SECOND STAGE THEATRE UPTOWN SERIES this summer.

Tony Nominee Kathleen Chalfant to Star in New Solo Show Off-Broadway

Nora's Playhouse will present the World Premiere of Laurence Leamer's solo play about Rose Kennedy, ROSE, at Theatre Row's Clurman Theatre, 410 West 43nd Street, NYC, beginning November 21st, opening November 29th and continuing through December 13, 2015.  Award-winning stage, film and TV actress Kathleen Chalfant will play Mrs. Kennedy under the direction of Caroline Reddick Lawson. Jane Greenwood is designing the costumes with scene design/projections by Anya Klepikov, lighting by Caitlin Rapoport and sound design by Jane Shaw

Andrew Lippa Will Return to Texas State University This October

Award-winning Broadway composer Andrew Lippa, who was the 2010-2011 Composer in Residence at Texas State, will return to Texas State to perform a concert of music from his shows along side students from the musical theater program and Broadway veteran Kaitlin Hopkins (Bat Boy, Bare) at the Performing Arts Center on the campus of Texas State University on October 17th at 7:30pm. There will also be a silent auction in the lobby of signed Film, TV and Theatre Memorabilia including scripts, photos and posters. All proceeds from the concert will go to scholarships for students in the Department of Theatre and Dance. BERNARD AND HUEY, a film by Dan Mirvish and Jules Feiffer, is a brilliant comedy with a screenplay by legendary Pulitzer/Oscar/Obie-winner Jules Feiffer (CARNAL KNOWLEDGE), based on characters from his long-running comic strip in the Village Voice. TheatreWorks Silicon Valley's 14th New Works Festival Lineup Set

Continuing its commitment to developing new works, TheatreWorks Silicon Valley will gather playwrights and composers from across the nation for its 2015 New Works Festival at Palo Alto's Lucie Stern Theatre, where the public can attend performances, offer feedback, and participate in a panel discussion with the artists. 

Breaking News: Steven Pasquale, Brandon Victor Dixon, Miriam Shor & More Will Join Sutton Foster in Encores! Off-Center's THE WILD PARTY

Brandon Victor Dixon and Steven Pasquale will join the previously announced Sutton Foster in Andrew Lippa's The Wild Party, running July 15 - 18, 2015 at New York City Center. (NOTE: Brandon Victor Dixon will replace the previously announced Joshua Henry, who has had a scheduling conflict.) The production will be directed by Leigh Silverman, with choreography by Sonya Tayeh. Jeanine Tesori is the Artistic Director of Encores! Off-Center and Chris Fenwick is Music Director.

Jacob's Pillow to Kick Off 2015 Festival with Performances, Classes, Exhibits, & More, 6/13

May 26, 2015 - (Becket, MA) Following the critical acclaim and record-breaking attendance of Festival 2014, Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival opens its 2015 season in June. Highlights of Festival 2015 include Three Acts, Two Dancers, One Radio Host, a special dance and radio stage production starring Ira Glass, host of This American Life; the return of Nederlands Dans Theater 2; the world premiere of American Ballet Theatre principal dancer Daniil Simkin's INTENSIO; Cuban contemporary ensemble Malpaso Dance Company, performing with GRAMMY Award-winning pianist and composer Arturo O'Farrill and the Afro Latin Jazz Ensemble; and the launch of Martha Graham Dance Company's 90th Anniversary, including a world premiere by eminent choreographer Mats Ek. 

ALTMAN'S ART Screening with Bob Balaban Set for Bay Street Theater, 6/8

Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is pleased to announce Altman's Art, a screening of Gosford Park and a discussion of the work of one of Americas greatest filmmakers on Monday, June 8 at 7 pm. The evening will also include a talkback hosted by Bob Balaban, with Guilia D'Agnolo Vallan, and Kathryn Altman-the widow of Robert Altman.
