Barnes & Noble Announces Black Friday Signed Editions Offering

Barnes & Noble, Inc. (NYSE:BKS), the nation's largest retail bookseller and the leading retailer of content, digital media and educational products, today announced the return of its customer-favorite and largest-of-its-kind Black Friday Signed Editions offering. SDC Foundation's New Mason-Wilson Award Supports New York Collaborations

Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDC Foundation), the not-for-profit foundation of Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC), announces that today, November 15, former SDC President and 2016 recipient of the Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement Marshall W. Mason (pictured, left) will announce a bequest to SDC Foundation.

Anna Deavere Smith's NOTES FROM THE FIELD Extends at Second Stage

Due to extremely high ticket demand, Anna Deavere Smith's critically acclaimed new work, NOTES FROM THE FIELD, will extend for one week and will now play through Sunday, December 18th at Second Stage Theatre (305 West 43rd Street). The production, directed by Leonard Foglia and featuring original music composed and performed by Marcus Shelby, opened to rave reviews on November 2nd and was originally scheduled to close on Sunday, December 11th.

Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director, Casey Reitz, Executive Director) has announced that Tony Award winner Reed Birney (The Humans) will star in the leading role of Ken Carpenter in the upcoming New York premiere production of Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Tracy Lett's 2003 play, MAN FROM NEBRASKA, directed by David Cromer. Mr. Birney has previously appeared in three Second Stage productions - The Family of Mann, Loose Knit, and Winterplay.

THE TOTALITARIANS is a new play by Peter Sinn Nachtrieb that had its world premiere in 2014. It is a satirical comedy that takes a behind the scenes look at modern politics and how a speech writer can make or break someone running for public office. Although the play is about a woman running for Attorney General in Nebraska, the play shines a bright light on the current political campaign here in America examining just how easy it is to sway the populace with unsubstantiated facts and catchy slogans. It also happens to be one of the sharpest satires since the days of Jules Feiffer.

Broadway and Film Producer Norman Twain Passes Away at 85

NORMAN TWAIN, 85, a prominent theatrical producer in New York and California in the 1960's and 1970's who later became a successful and award-winning film producer, died Saturday morning, August 6th, after a brief illness.
