Following the official release of his “I KNOW MORE NOW” CD on February 21, award-winning actor and cabaret singer BRIAN De LORENZO will dazzle Greater Boston audiences with music from his new album and some past favorites, at a concert on Wednesday, March 18 at Harvard Square's OBERON, 2 Arrow Street, Cambridge. Popular actress Joan Ryan has a love of music and singing and it has informed a successful career on the concert stages. Her new show is all about life, laughter and her love of music.

Some of the most beloved songs of the musical theatre canon come from Bernstein's score, which includes 'Tonight,' 'America,' 'Maria,' and of course, Tony's big Act I moment, 'Something's Coming.' Today, we celebrate the show's return with that very tune, featuring original Tonys Larry Kert (original Broadway cast) and Richard Beymer (1961 film), Broadway leading men Matt Cavenaugh (2009 revival), Jeremy Jordan (2009 revival), Cheyenne Jackson, Gavin Creel, Colton Ryan, Santino Fontana, and Darren Criss, and even Barbra Streisand, Shirley Bassey and Judy Garland.

Summer Orlando and Barbra Joan Streetsand conjure their best respective impressions of Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand, with live singing, classic duets, solo performances, comedy and lots of fun!

Bristol Riverside Theatre presents the landmark Broadway musical Cabaret, with music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, and book by Joe Masteroff. Lauren Molina, of The Skivvies, will lead the cast as Sally Bowles.

Northlight Theatre, under the direction of Artistic Director BJ Jones and Executive Director Timothy J. Evans, concludes its 2019-2020 season with Songs for Nobodies, written by Joanna Murray-Smith, directed by Rob Lindley, with music direction by Andra Velis Simon, and featuring Bethany Thomas. Chances are, as America is an increasing book-abhorrent culture, most folks familiar with THE WIZARD OF OZ know only of the 1939 Judy Garland film, versus author L. Frank Baum's children's 1900 book, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. While the book and the film are fairly well aligned as children's entertainment, author Gregory Maguire's 1995 spin on the story, Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West is most definitely for the adults. Political upheaval, adultery, multiple murders, family dysfunction, betrayal, it's downright Shakespearean. All three serve as fantastical fodder for Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman's Broadway production of Wicked, a sort of Oz-ian 'Odd Couple,' were Neil Simon a fan of J.R.R. Tolkein and J. K. Rowling: 'On Ozmember the 13th, Elphaba was asked to remove herself from her place of residence; that request came from her father. Deep down, she believed he was right, but knew that someday she would return. With nowhere else to go, she appeared at university and meets Galinda, fresh off an off-Broadway run of LEGALLY BLONDE. Can two strange women share a dorm room together without driving each other crazy?'

Revival Theatre Company (RTC) opens its sixth season with the Iowa premiere of End of the Rainbow, a bitterly-sweet, funny drama about the final years in the life of Judy Garland. 'If happy little bluebirds fly beyond the rainbow, why, oh, why, can't I?' End of the Rainbow features a glorious ensemble of Judy Garland fan favorites. The glamour and melancholy of stardom will be on full display.

Though SCR's admirable new production of the 1963 Broadway musical SHE LOVES ME, for the most part, still has many charming, beautifully-staged, and well-sung moments, it also somehow feels like it is slightly reigned in, as if there was a purposeful attempt to downscale some of its built-in whimsy and spirited vivaciousness---particularly in the first act where emotional expressions all seem to sit in the same middle areaa?? never tipping over to too angry or too sad or too happy or too, well, anything. Now on stage in Costa Mesa through February 22, 2020, the production---directed by the theater's own artistic director David Ivers---is genuinely entertaining, but still needs a huge shot of joy, romance, and pep to make it feel complete.
