The New World Symphony, America's Orchestral Academy, announces the election of Dr. Judith Rodin to its Board of Trustees.  

HELP USA, a national homeless services non-profit with a large focus on serving survivors of domestic violence, honored Vice President Joe Biden and four other civic leaders at the organization's annual Scholarship Awards Luncheon on Thursday. This year, HELP USA awarded 30 scholarships in honor of the organization's 30th anniversary.

The innovative educational program that launched last year at Hamilton on Broadway, in partnership with The Rockefeller Foundation, will debut in Chicago today, February 22, when 1,900 students and teachers from 30 Chicago Public Schools (CPS) attend the matinee performance of the musical at Broadway In Chicago's The PrivateBank Theatre (18 W. Monroe Street).

An additional $6 million grant will allow 100,000 students to see HAMILTON on tour and participate in special educational programs.

Yesterday marked the next #EduHam, a series of Hamilton Wednesday matinees made available to New York City schools with a high concentration of students from low-income families for the ticket price of only $10.

The Rockefeller Foundation and the producers of the smash hit Broadway musical HAMILTON have agreed to finance a program which will enable 20,000 New York City 11th graders to see the production at a series of matinee performances.

The Members of the Board of Trustees of the Brooklyn Museum have elected Elizabeth A. Sackler, Board member since 2000, as the Museum's Chair. Dr. Sackler, the first woman in the nearly 200-year history of the Museum to serve in that position, is the founder of the Museum's Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art. She succeeds retiring chair John S. Tamagni, who has served as Chair since 2011 and will continue to serve as an active Board member.

Award-winning theatre, opera, and film director Julie Taymor will be honored at the 2013 Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art First Awards at the Brooklyn Museum on June 13 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. The award, which honors women who have broken gender barriers to make remarkable contributions in their fields, will be bestowed on Taymor, winner of the Tony Award for Best Direction of a Musical in 1998. It will be presented by Museum Trustee Elizabeth A. Sackler and followed by a conversation between Taymor and feminist icon Gloria Steinem.
