The Broadway adaptation of THÉRÈSE RAQUIN, starring Academy and Golden Globe nominee Keira Knightley (Thérèse) in her Broadway debut, began preview performances on October 1, 2015, and opened officially last night, October 29, 2015 on Broadway at Studio 54. Allegiance stars Tony and Olivier Award winner Lea Salonga (Miss Saigon, Les Miserables) in her long-awaited return to Broadway joined by "Star Trek" icon George Takei in his Broadway debut at age 78, and Broadway and "Glee" star Telly Leung. Allegiance is the vibrant and unforgettable story of one family's resilience in the face of seemingly-insurmountable odds, inspired by Takei's real-life experience as a Japanese American during World War II. New York City Center presents Irving Berlin's ANNIE GET YOUR GUN: IN CONCERT starring Megan Hilty, who three years after starring in the Encores! production of GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES, returns to City Center as Annie Oakley. Hilty is joined by a Tony-honored cast including Andy Karl, Chuck Cooper, Judy Kaye,Brad Oscar, and Ron Raines. Check out more photos of the cast in action here.

It was 20 years ago when Sarah Jessica Parker starred Off-Broadway in A.R. Gurney's off-beat comedy about a man and his dog, SYLVIA. Just last night her hubby Matthew Broderick had the honor of opening in SYLVIA on Broadway, joined by Annaleigh Ashford as Sylvia, with Julie White andRobert Sella. NJTV, New Jersey's public television network, and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) presented the first performance of the American Songbook at NJPAC series and BroadwayWorld was there. The multi-part music series features performances of American Songbook classics and more by stars of stage, screen and radio. Jessie Mueller and Jarrod Spector from the original cast of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, cabaret great Marilyn Maye, Wicked composer Stephen Schwartz and many more. Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller and Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, The Rockefeller Foundation president Judith Rodin, NYC Department of Education Chancellor Carmen Fariña and Gilder Lehrman executive director Lesley Herrmann announced an educational partnership to provide 20,000 NYC public school students with the opportunity to see Hamilton on Broadway and integrate the show into classroom studies. This educational initiative is made possible through a $1.46 million grant by The Rockefeller Foundation to Gilder Lehrman. Check out more photos from the incredible announcement here!

FIRST YOU DREAM-THE MUSIC OF KANDER & EBB premieres Friday, November 20, 2015 on PBS. The tribute to the legendary songwriting team of Cabaret and Chicago is part of the fifth PBS ARTS FALL FESTIVAL and includes performances by an all-star cast of Tony Award winners and nominees. The 2016 KIDS' NIGHT ON BROADWAY National Ambassadors Kelli O'Hara and Marlee Matlin just announced that the 20th Kids' Night on Broadway will take place in New York City on Tuesday, February 9th, 2016, BroadwayWorld has confirmed. Tickets go on sale on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 10:30am. BroadwayWorld was there for the big announcement and you can go behind the scenes of the special day here!
