The Tony Award-winning AVENUE Q celebrated its first anniversary at New World Stages yesterday, October 21, 2010. After a triumphant, six-year run on Broadway, AVENUE Q continued its record of unexpected accomplishments last fall when the show's producers made the surprise announcement on the musical's Broadway closing night that they were, in fact, moving AVENUE Q to New World Stages, a mere five blocks away from the Golden Theatre, where the show had delighted audiences of all ages for more than 2,500 performances on Broadway. AVENUE Q began preview performances at New World Stages on October 9, 2009, officially opened on October 21, and continues to play to large and happy audiences one year later. Here is the full list of winners of the 2010 Daytime Emmy Awards, which were presented on Sunday night, June 27, 2010.

The Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards will be broadcast from Las Vegas for the first time on June 27th, 2010 over the CBS Television Network. 'It is with great pleasure that the Daytime Emmy Awards returns to the CBS Network,' said Herb Granath, Chairman, NATAS. 'The Daytime Emmy Awards are one of the cornerstones of our business and this year's Las Vegas-based broadcast promises to be even more exciting.'

Joel Zwick returned to his alma mater, James Madison High School, on May 16 to be honored for the school's 'Wall of Distinction', according to The NY Post. The award is given annually to famous alumni of the Brooklyn public school. In addition to Zwick, Madison's other 2010 honorees include the late Cal Abrams, Judith Blun Sheindlin (aka Judge Judy), Maury Allen and Deborah Tobias Poritz, among others.

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) today announced the nominees for the 37th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards. Many of the major categories were announced this morning on 'CBS News' 'The Early Show,' by Bree Williamson (Jessica Brennan on 'One Life to Live,' ABC) and Travis Stork ('The Doctors,' Syndicated) including the naming of the Lifetime Achievement honoree, Agnes Nixon, the grand dame of Daytime serial drama.

Ann Sanders -- who enjoyed a long run as Christmas Eve in AVENUE Q during its record-breaking six-year run on Broadway -- returns to the Tony Award-winning musical to resume the role of the lovable, no-nonsense Japanese therapist starting Monday, April 5 at New World Stages (340 W. 50 St.) in Manhattan.

February is "superstar" month at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, with tributes to Elvis and the Beatles-and big-name stars Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, Joan Rivers, Gladys Knight and Patti LuPone among the luminaries onstage.

Sarah Stiles, who starred as Kate Monster and Lucy in AVENUE Q on Broadway, will re-join the cast of the musical now at New World Stages (340 W. 50 St. in Manhattan) starting Friday, January 8, 2010.

Some things aren't only for now! Announced from the stage tonight by producer Kevin McCollum was the unprecedented news that AVENUE Q was making theatre history by moving BACK off Broadway and that it will re-open on October 9, 2009 at New World Stages. The show will be presented in its entirety and from the same production, design and producer team as its current Broadway incarnation. An official announcement is expected tomorrow.
