Next week, 54 BELOW will present some of the brightest stars from Broadway, cabaret, jazz, and beyond.

FEINSTEIN’S/54 BELOW, Broadway’s Supper Club, will present Artists Undiscovered: Celebrating Undiscovered New York Talent on July 19,2022. This cabaret concert showcases some of New York’s best undiscovered young talent and social media stars.

Iconotheatrix presents The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee April 6-15, 2017 at The MATCH (Midtown Arts and Theatre Center Houston). An eclectic group of mid-pubescents vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the tweens spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life un-affirming 'ding' of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves! At least the losers get a juice box. A riotous ride, complete with audience participation, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a fast-paced, crowd-pleasing, delightful den of comedic genius.

Dramatic, powerful, and intense describes When I Come To Die now playing at the Kansas City Repertory Theatre, Copaken Stage. Nathan Louis Jackson, playwright in residence for KC Repertory, wrote the thought-provoking look at a prisoner on death roll that cheats death at his execution, only to have to relive waiting to die.

If you are alive and well in Houston, you know that audiences were able to pick from three different productions of Stephen Sondheim's infamous SWEENEY TODD: THE DEMON BARBER OF STREET FLEET last weekend. Two of those productions even share the same opening and closing dates. Luckily for Houston audiences, each version of SWEENEY TODD being produced is distinctly different and unique, giving ample reason for local audiences to venture out and experience each one. Pasadena's Stage Door, Inc.'s SWEENY TODD adds the Steampunk aesthetic to the classic musical, giving the production an intriguing facelift that doesn't interfere in any way with the storytelling.

Kansas City Rep's presentation of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Carousel, directed by Kyle Hatley, the theatre's associate artistic director, runs now through March 31, 2013. Zina Camblin's And Her Hair Went With Her came out of the National New Play Network (NNPN), having received productions at Phoenix Theatre, New Jersey Repertory Company and Fountain Theatre (all NNPN theatres) and was read at the Unicorn in 2008.
