The Apollo today announced new additions to its 2023 Spring Benefit. The 'Empress of Soul,' Gladys Knight joins the line-up as an esteemed musical guest. Academy Award winning director Spike Lee is also confirmed to present the Impact Award to six-time NBA champion and the league's only six-time MVP, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Apollo Music Café alumni and esteemed vocalist, Stout, is slated to appear as a musical guest with a special Tina Turner tribute. The historic organization's largest annual fundraising event returns Monday, June 12 with an evening themed “The Next Movement!”  

The Apollo Names New Theater Space After Longtime Leader Jonelle Procope

On Monday, March 27, The Apollo’s Board Chair Charles E. Phillips announced that the 99-seat theater in The Apollo’s new Victoria Theater—which marks the first major expansion in the organization’s history—will be named after its current President & CEO Jonelle Procope.

The Apollo has announced that Fatima Jones has been named the organization’s first Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, effective immediately. Ms. Jones has been a part of the institution’s marketing and communications team since 2018.

The Apollo Theater to Release Limited Edition NFT of its Marquee

In celebration of the Apollo’s Spring Benefit on Monday, June 13, the non-profit announced today it will release a limited edition non-fungible token commemorating the annual event. Approximately 400 NFTs will be issued  through Ticketmaster.

$10k Grant Applications Now Open for Independent Harlem Businesses
