ASCAP is now seeking new musicals for the annual ASCAP Musical Theatre Workshop in New York. Serving once more as artistic director for the workshop is Academy and Grammy Award-winning composer-lyricist Stephen Schwartz, whose credits include hit Broadway shows Wicked, Godspell and Pippin; the Walt Disney films Enchanted, Pocahontas and The Hunchback of Notre Dame; and the DreamWorks film The Prince of Egypt.

Studio Theatre is pleased to announce the cast for Murder Ballad, this spring's explosive rock musical directed by Artistic Director David Muse.

The production is of such high quality that oftentimes we forget that MAD is a community theatre.

SoLuna Studio will produce the musical TICK…TICK…BOOM! as a part their professional mainstage season, with performances running February 20th-March 8th. Performances will be held on Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 3pm. Tickets purchased in advance are $15 for students and seniors and $20 for adults. The production at the intimate Hollywood Cupcake Theater features a rotating cast of industry professionals who bring the characters to life brilliantly.

The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) will present a reunion concert of Kirsten Childs' THE BUBBLY BLACK GIRL SHEDS HER CHAMELEON SKIN on March 30, 2015 at 7pm at 54 Below. The concert will be directed by original cast member Jerry Dixon (If/Then) with original music director Fred Carl (Miracle Brothers) leading members of the original band.

This July, Prospect Theater Company (Cara Reichel, Producing Artistic Director / Melissa Huber, Managing Director) will once again host a three-week Summer Intensive for musical theater students ages 12-17. Beginning Monday, July 6 and running through Saturday, July 25, admitted students will participate in a daily musical theater training program from Mon. - Sat., 10am-6pm (Sundays off).

The award-winning CAP21 Theatre Company will open its 2015 season with the first production of a new musical, THE ARTIST & THE SCIENTIST, with book and lyrics by Jenny Stafford, music by Brandon Anderson, and story by Jenny Stafford and Brandon Anderson.
