RENT will soon be making its Cuban premiere! Nederlander Worldwide Entertainment has announced it will bring Jonathan Larson's Pulitzer Prize winning musical to Havana next month. Directed by Andy Senor, Jr., who starred in RENT on Broadway, the show is slated to open on Christmas Eve atBertolt Brecht Theater for an expected three month run. Following previous season's sold-out holiday hits, The Snow Queen, Hansel and Gretel, the A.R.T. Institute, in association with the Loeb Drama Center, brings back the enchanting musical, The Light Princess, by Lila Rose Kaplan with music by Mike Pettry, directed by Allegra Libonati, with choreography by Jeff and Rick Kuperman. Performances will be held at the Loeb Drama Center, 64 Brattle Street, Cambridge from December 7 through January 4, 2015.

This November, The Square Foot Theatre Company will present RENT, the beloved work of Jonathan Larson. This will be this Connecticut based non-equity, non-profit community theatre's 36th production in 7 years. They are thrilled to begin their 2014-2015 season with this ground breaking musical. Sundance Institute today announced the seven artists selected for its 2015 Playwrights & Composers Retreat at Ucross Foundation. The 16th annual writing colony at the 20,000-acre working cattle ranch outside of Sheridan, WY takes place February 2-20. Under the supervision of Artistic Director Philip Himberg and Producing Director Christopher Hibma, the Playwrights Retreat is made possible through the generosity of Ucross Foundation. The program is one of the 24 residency labs across many creative disciplines focusing on artistic process that Sundance Institute offers annually.

Shaina will be joined by her bandmates bassist/singer Mike Brun (Mr. Burns, Old Hats) and drummer/singer Jacob Colin Cohen (One Man, Two Guv'nors; Old Hats), pianist David Farrell Melton and singer Grace McLean (Bedbugs!!!), Catherine Brookman (Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812) and Starr Busby will make special guest appearances. The set list will features selections from Old Hats, There's A House, Robin, songs from Taub's two EPs, and many brand new songs as well.

Vineyard Theatre today announced that the world premiere of the musical BROOKLYNITE, helmed by Tony Award-winning director Michael Mayer (HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH, SPRING AWAKENING), would begin performances Friday January 29th, with an opening night set for Wednesday February 25th.
