On Saturday, March 6th at 7 pm EST, timed in conjunction with International Women's Day, Neighbors for Refugees, a Larchmont, New York-based nonprofit, will premiere a virtual reading of 'In Her Words: Refugee Women's Stories on Stage.' Playwright Beth Blatt devised the play from interviews conducted with six women from all around the globe. Zachary Moore, an accomplished theatre educator and director, directs.

THE SPOTLIGHT SERIES, a bi-monthly live streamed concert series created by A LITTLE NEW MUSIC will “spotlight” the music of composer/lyricist Anna K. Jacobs on February 16th. The evening will be co-hosted by ALNM co-producers Luke H. Klipp and Kila Packett, and produced by amy francis schott.

New York Theatre Workshop announced today programming for the months of February & March, including Hilton Als Presents by Artistic Instigator & Pulitzer Prize winner Hilton Als; a benefit reading of For Which It Stands by Lee Edward Colston II; and Open Office Hours, a new NYTW pilot program; as well as free Virtual Programming events.

New York Theatre Workshop announced today additional performers and presenters for the NYTW 2021 Annual Gala celebrating the Tony Award & Pulitzer Prize-winning musical RENT. The Gala will be held virtually on Tuesday March 2, 2021 at 8PM EST and will remain available to stream through March 6, 2021 at 8PM EST.

Future Spotlight Productions today announce the UK and European première of the new musical In Pieces by Joey Contreras as a feature film, directed by Louis Rayneau. The film will be released online for a limited time only in support of LGBT Foundation, from 23 April 2021. Ticket information and casting will be announced shortly.

Ars Nova, has announced its second slate of 2021 programming including six new events curated by composer Rona Siddiqui as part of the new Ars Nova Vision Residency program. All events will take place on Ars Nova Supra, a new streaming platform from Ars Nova that showcases some of New York City’s most promising emerging artists.

Michael Anthony Theatrical has announced its latest cabaret, 'The Music of: RENT, A Celebration of the 25th Anniversary.' This virtual performance art will be streamed on Thursday, February 18th at 7:00PM EST on Michael Anthony Theatrical's Official YouTube channel.

On January 25, 1996, Rent premiered at the New York Theatre Workshop. Earlier that morning, the show's writer and creator, Jonathan Larson, died of an aortic aneurysm.

On this day, we celebrate the life and career of Jonathan Larson, who passed away on this day in 1996.
