Due to popular demand, the Greenhouse Theater Center and Sideshow Theatre Company's hit world premiere of THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH, written and performed by Jeff Award-winning playwright and Sideshow Artistic Associate Philip Dawkins will extend performances through October 30, 2016. 

Greenhouse Theater Center (2257 N. Lincoln Ave ) and Sideshow Theatre Company present the world premiere of "The Happiest Place on Earth," written by and starring Joseph Jefferson Award-winning playwright and Sideshow Artistic Associate Philip Dawkins and directed by Sideshow Artistic Director Jonathan L. Green.  The show runs Sept. 17 - Oct. 23 with the press opening on Sept. 22 at 7:30 p.m. 

As it embarks on its 10th Anniversary Season, Sideshow Theatre Company is pleased to announce the playwrights for "The Freshness Initiative," the company's commissioning and new play development program, now in its third year. The 2016/17 season will feature public readings of brand new plays by J. Nicole Brooks, Selina Fillinger and Isaac Gomez. The readings will take place at Victory Gardens Theater during May, June and July of 2017. Two of the world premiere productions featured in Sideshow's 2016/17 Season were developed through "The Freshness Initiative," Philip Dawkins' The Happiest Place on Earth and Calamity West's Give It All Back.

Sideshow Theatre Company, recent winner of the 2016 Broadway In Chicago Emerging Theatre Award, will conclude its 2015/16 Season with the Chicago premiere of CAUGHT, a new, head-spinning collaboration with playwright Christopher Chen, director Seth Bockley and Xiong Art Gallery. CAUGHT will play May 29 - July 3, 2016 at Victory Gardens Richard Christiansen Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Ave. in Chicago. The League of Chicago Theatres announces Sideshow Theatre Company as the winner of the 2016 Broadway In Chicago Emerging Theatre Award. The award will be presented at the League of Chicago Theatres Annual Gala, an elegant event that brings together friends of Chicago theatre to raise funds for programs to support Chicago's 240 member theatre companies, on May 23, 2016 at the Chicago History Museum, 1601 N. Clark St.

Today, Jacob Harvey, Artistic Director of the Greenhouse Theater Center, announced the 12 plays that will be presented as part of the 'Solo Celebration!' series, running June 2016 - February 2017, including new works from acclaimed Chicago-based playwrights including Isaac Gomez, Brett Neveu, Douglas Post, Susan Padveen and Philip Dawkins (who will also be performing his solo work).
