Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater announces the full company for Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and author Ayad Akhtar's (Arena's Disgraced) timely tale Junk. Inspired by the real junk bond giants of the 1980s, Akhtar explores how the riveting, hostile takeover of a family-owned manufacturing company paved the way to expose the rise of greed, power, race and wealth that led to reshaping the rules of Wall Street and the world. Directed by Jackie Maxwell, Junk runs April 5 - May 5, 2019 in the Fichandler Stage.

Today's subject, Jonathan David Martin, came to Washington, DC after accepting a job as Associate Producer of Theater J, but he is currently living his theatre life back onstage in The Heiress at Arena Stage in the role of Morris Townsend This production, which marks his Arena Stage debut, begins performances on February 8th. It plays through March 10th in Arena's Fitchandler Stage space.

COMPANY CYPHER in association with AMY RAFA and SARAH STITES announce casting for the NYC Premiere of the award winning GUTTING, written by Jeremy J. Kamps and directed by Zoey Martinson. The play follows fourteen-year-old Kali returning home to post-Katrina Lower 9th Ward. We are commemorating the 10th anniversary of the hurricane with this production of GUTTING accompanied by community programming addressing the related issues of displacement, gentrification and racism. The Fringe Festival always delivers wide varieties of theater, theater that is presented quite differently than what is usually displayed in the mainstream scene. This year is no different and one of the more unique shows in performances down town this year is Smoke and Mirrors Co.'s NDEBELE FUNERAL.

Smoke and Mirrors Collaborative, as part of the 17th annual New York International Fringe Festival, is pleased to announce the New York premiere production of Zoey Martinson's NDEBELE FUNERAL, directed by Awoye Timpo. NDEBELE FUNERAL will play a limited engagement as part of the New York International Fringe Festival, at Teatro Circulo (64 East 4th Street, NYC), which runs from August 9-25, 2013.

Yesterday, September 10, The New York Mets partnered with Seraphim12 Foundation on 'Hooves on First' Night at Citi Field when the Mets hosted the Washington Nationals. The fundraiser will raise awareness about the treatment of horses.
