Shakespeare Theatre Company announced today that Tony Award winner Michael McGrath has joined the world premiere cast of the new musical ONCE UPON A ONE MORE TIME, as Narrator.

Mid-World Players closes its 2021 season at The Found Theatre with Bare: A Pop Opera. A pulsating, electric contemporary rock musical, Bare follows a group of students at a Catholic boarding school as they grapple with issues of sexuality, identity, and the future. Peter and Jason have fallen in love with each other, but Jason -- a popular athlete -- fears losing his status if he is discovered to be gay.

The Shakespeare Theatre Company has just announced casting for the world premiere of the Broadway-bound musical ONCE UPON A ONE MORE TIME November 30-January 2 at Sidney Harman Hall. The show will star Briga Heelan and Justin Guarini as Cinderella and Prince Charming, alongside John Glover as Narrator, Tony nominee Emily Skinner as Stepmother, Brooke Dillman as The O.F.G, Aisha Jackson as Snow White, and MiMi Scardulla and Tess Soltau as Stepsisters Belinda and Betany. Glover replaces Simon Callow in the role.

Today we rewind to 2012 for the off-Broadway revival of Bare. Featuring music by Damon Intrabartolo and book & lyrics by Jon Hartmere, the revival was directed by Stafford Arima, choreographed by Travis Wall  and starred Jason Hite, Taylor Trensch, Elizabeth Judd, with Gerard Canonico, Jerold E. As BroadwayWorld reported earlier this week, Britney Spears musical ONCE UPON A ONE MORE TIME, as forced to cancel its pre-Broadway engagement in Chicago, where it was previously scheduled to open on April 30. According to a member of the cast however, the show might still be on track to open on Broadway in Fall 2020.

In advance of today's Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour, Freeform and Hulu announce the acquisition of three hit films from STXfilms. The two Walt Disney Television entities struck a deal to license STXfilms' “Hustlers” and “The Upside,” each of which generated over $100 million during their North American theatrical run, as well as the STX hit comedy “I Feel Pretty,” which generated over $94 million worldwide. The films will simultaneously debut on Freeform and Hulu.
