The New York Philharmonic will present the World Premiere of Star Wars Film Concert Series, September 15-October 7, 2017, featuring screenings of four complete films from the saga - A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, and The Force Awakens - with Oscar-winning composer John Williams's musical scores performed live to film. The concerts will be led by acclaimed conductor David Newman.

The breathtaking and anticipated follow-up to the sheer screen and musical enchantment of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is back with the next film in the series. The Sony Centre has announced that the Toronto Symphony Orchestra will perform Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets October 12-14, 2017 continuing the global Harry Potter Film Concert Series after the breakout success of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. Conducted by Joshua Gersen, the continuation of this breathtaking, much-anticipated film concert will see the film screened in high definition and in full on a 40-foot screen, as John Williams' incredible score is played live on stage by a world-class orchestra and choir.

The New York Philharmonic will present Bernstein's Philharmonic: A Centennial Festival, October 25-November 14, 2017,celebrating the former Philharmonic Music Director and Laureate Conductor on the centennial of his birth. The festival - which is part of the worldwide salute to the legacy of the renowned composer, conductor, pianist, and educator - will center on Bernstein's symphonic cycle, conducted by Alan Gilbert and Leonard Slatkin, complemented by other Bernstein works as well as by music by composers he admired and championed. In addition, the Philharmonic will present a Young People's Concert - the series that Bernstein famously brought to national attention through the television broadcasts - titled Inspirations and Tributes: "Celebrating Leonard Bernstein," conducted by Leonard Slatkin and featuring pianist Makoto Ozone on November 11. A number of other events - ranging from a marathon of Bernstein's Mahler recordings to a partnership with Harvard and University of Michigan to explore Bernstein as an educator and conductor - complement the concerts throughout the centennial season. Bernstein served as the Philharmonic's Music Director from 1958 to 1969, when he was named Laureate Conductor, a title he held until his death in 1990.

Due to an overwhelming response to the Columbus Symphony's upcoming performance of Star Wars in Concert on Friday, October 6, a second performance has been added on Saturday, October 7, at 8pm. Tickets for the added performance will go on sale to the public at 10am on Friday, September 8.
