The Philly POPS will open the 2017-18 season with A Star Wars Celebration featuring the music of John Williams on October 20, 21, and 22 at the Kimmel Center.

This year marks 40 years since the first Star Wars film was released. The show will feature music from the scores of all seven Star Wars movies, plus songs from every movie score for which composer John Williams won an Academy Award.

The program includes: Imperial March, Cantina Band, Across the Stars, Duel of the Fates, Harry's Wondrous World from Harry Potter, Theme from Jaws, and Flying Theme from E.T.: The Extraterrestrial.

The 65-piece orchestra, led by Music Director Michael Krajewski, will be joined by the 180-voice Philly POPS Festival Chorus.

Adding to the excitement will be costumed-members of Garrison Carida of the 501st Legion re-creating the Star Wars galaxy of characters! They'll pose for photos in the lobby before the concert and during intermission. Many audience members are expected to dress up for the show, which conveniently takes place a week before Halloween.

All guests are welcome to arrive 90 minutes prior to each concert for free pre-concert entertainment, including a conversation led by CBS Radio Philadelphia's RJ McKay and and festive music in the Plaza in the Kimmel Center lobby.

Tickets: $35-$145
