For a great comedic musical with a first-rate cast, ANYTHING GOES at the Sharon Playhouse is highly entertaining.

Anything Goes opened the 59thSeason at the Sharon Playhouse this past weekend. Helmed by Artistic Director Alan M-L Wager and starring Broadway's Amanda Lea Lavergne, and Tony Award Winner Paul Kreppel.

Following a successful 2017 season at Hayes Theatre, Dean Bryant's (Director) brilliantly crafted production of ASSASSINS has opened for an encore season at the Sydney Opera House.

Stephen Sondheim's ASSASSINS is coming to Western Wyoming Community College from April 26, 2019 to May 4, 2019. 

Previews begin this Friday, June 1 for the Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) world premiere production of LOG CABIN, a new play by Pulitzer Prize finalist Jordan Harrison (Marjorie Prime, Maple and Vine, Doris to Darlene at Playwrights; "Orange Is the New Black").  Directed by Tony Award and Obie Award winner Pam MacKinnon (Clybourne Park, The Qualms at Playwrights; Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, The Parisian Woman), LOG CABIN is the sixth and final production of the theater company's current 2017/2018 Season.  

McCarter is proud to welcome a group of esteemed and emerging playwrights and theater artists to Princeton for the Sallie B. Goodman Artists' Retreat. The annual Retreat in June is a centerpiece of McCarter's LAB, a platform and creative incubator devoted to ongoing theatrical development and artist cultivation. The 2018 Retreat will take place from June 6 - June 13.

The nonprofit AT&T Performing Arts Center announced today the lineup for Celebrity Autobiography performing at 8pm Friday, May 25 and Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Moody Performance Hall in the downtown Dallas Arts District. On April 28, the Long Beach Playhouse Studio Theatre opens the 2018 season. The Sydney Opera House today announced the final cast members for its upcoming production of the critically-acclaimed musical Assassins. After a sold-out season at the Hayes Theatre Co, which received widespread critical praise and multiple nominations in last year's Sydney Theatre Awards, this darkly entertaining, revue-style musical arrives at the Sydney Opera House's Playhouse in June.

The Old Globe's 2017-2018 Season continues with today's announcement of the complete cast and creative team for the Globe-commissioned world premiere of Anna Ziegler's new American play The Wanderers, directed by Barry Edelstein, the Globe's Erna Finci Viterbi Artistic Director. The Wanderers will run April 6 - May 6, 2018 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Tickets start at $30.00 and are on sale to the general public now. Previews run April 6-12. Opening night is Friday, April 13 at 8:00 p.m.

Perhaps it is coincidental that the collaboration between Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman has grown in popularity since its 1990 Off-Broadway debut as the rise of mass shootings in America has increased its grip on the American psyche.  Whether one has anything to do with the other matters little. It cannot be ignored that the nation has a preoccupation with violence and the ideal of the "American Dream."
