Tim Realbuto Cast As John Hinckley In The Secret Theatre's ASSASSINS - Full Cast Announced!
Film actor Tim Realbuto* has been tapped to play John Hinckley, the man whose obsession with a young Jodie Foster made him attempt to assassinate President Ronald Reagan, in Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman's musical masterpiece ASSASSINS, opening May 2nd at Long Island City's Secret Theatre. The production will be directed by Lauren Shields.
Mr. Realbuto recently finished filming the lead role in YES, based on his stage play, starring opposite Modern Family's Nolan Gould, Jenna Leigh Green, Siobhan Fallon Hogan, and The Office star Oscar Nunez. Directed by Rob Margolies, the motion picture is set for release this June.
This is Realbuto's second musical role after completing production on the film. He last played William Dent Pitman in the Off-Broadway musical comedy THE WRONG BOX at Theatre For The New City.
Rounding out the cast of ASSASSINS are McLean Peterson (Balladeer/Lee Harvey Oswald), Grant Snuffer (Proprietor), Evan Teich* (John Wilkes Booth), Matthew Zimmerman (Herald/Ensemble), Jaime Hall (Samuel Byck), Jonmichael Tarleton (Charles Guiteau), Aaron Gooden (Leon Czolgosz), Robert Farruggia* (Giuseppe Zangara), Leeanna Rubin* (Sara Jane Moore), Hannah Howzdy (Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme), Savannah Lloyd (Emma Goldman/Ensemble), Danny Dyer (Ensemble), Carly Ameling (Ensemble), and Jackson Dorfmann (Billy).

In ASSASSINS, based on an idea by Charles Gilbert, Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman examine the motivations of the men and women who have killed - or attempted to kill - United States Presidents throughout history. John Wilkes Booth, Lee Harvey Oswald, John Hinckley and others meet and interact in this revue-style musical.
