Reggie Burrows Hodges Is Inaugural Winner Of New Prize Supporting American Artists

The Addison Gallery of American Art has announced that Reggie Burrows Hodges is the inaugural recipient of the Addison Artist Council's Bartlett H. Hayes, Jr. Prize, the highlight of a new initiative the museum launched earlier this year to provide important institutional support to American artists.

Ghostlight Productions and Nicely Theatre Group are partnering  once again, for the 2nd Annual Obsidian Theatre Festival.  After a successful inaugural year in the middle of a global pandemic, Obsidian is back and will include live and virtual offerings.

The Obsidian Theatre Festival to be Made Available for Streaming

Sloan’s Ghostlight Productions announced that they are partnering with BroadwayHD to bring the inaugural Obsidian Festival to viewers for free via the streaming service’s YouTube channel.  The Obsidian Theatre Festival is a virtual theatre and performing arts event featuring emerging Black artists, actors, directors, and playwrights from Detroit.

Plowshares Theatre Company Presents HASTINGS STREET Virtual Concert

Michigan's only professional African American Theatre, Plowshares Theatre Company, presents a virtual concert of songs from an original musical set in Detroit's past. The play, Hastings Street, is a work in progress set in 1949 at the cusp of the order to tear down Black Bottom, the segregated Black community that was once where I-75 is now.

CABARET Comes to Aronoff Center

Cincinnati Music Theatre will open its 2019-2020 mainstage season with Kander and Ebb's iconic musical Cabaret a?" the Tony Award-winning work that helped revolutionize American musical theater. The production runs November 8-16, 2019 at the Aronooff Center's intimate Jarson-Kaplan Theater.

Award-Winning Film CLOSURE Sets Theatrical Debut

Indie Rights, 5100 Films, 103rd Street Productions, Kampfire Films, Red Spear Productions and Kristen Moser are thrilled to announce the theatrical release of Writer/Director Alex Goldberg's Award-winning feature film CLOSURE. The film will play at Arena Cinelounge (6464 Sunset Blvd. Hollywood, CA 90028) Friday, October 18 at 8:15 pm through Thursday, October 24th at 6:00pm. Additionally, later this month Indie Rights will be debuting CLOSURE at the American Film Market.

Directed by Nike Doukas, The Hothouse opens on Jan. 25 and Jan. 26 (one opening for each cast), running through March 11 at the Kiki & David Gindler Performing Arts Center in Glendale. Low-priced previews begin on Jan. 18.

Playwright Alex Goldberg's Film CLOSURE To Premiere At DCIFF

5100 Films, 103rd Street Productions, Kampfire Films, Red Spear Productions and Writer/Director Alex Goldberg (Off Broadway's It Is Done) are pleased to announce the World Premiere of Goldberg's CLOSURE at the D.C. Independent Film Festival. The festival, which takes place February 14 -19, 2018, was founded in 1999 to nurture independent film. CLOSURE will World Premiere at 7:45pm on Saturday Feb 17th.
