Parrish Art Museum to Present Traveling Exhibit WILLIAM GLACKENS, 7/20-10/13

From July 20 through October 13, the Parrish Art Museum will present William Glackens-the first comprehensive survey of the artist's work since 1966. The exhibition spans Glackens's career from the 1890s through the 1930s, with more than 85 important paintings and works on paper from some of America's finest private and public collections, including the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the National Gallery of Art, and the Cleveland Museum, among others. Several works in the exhibition are on view to the public for the first time since 1966.

Miki Shelton Named New Executive Director of Antaeus

The Antaeus Company, L.A.'s classical theater ensemble, has chosen long-time development consultant Miki Shelton to fill the newly created position of executive director beginning January 1. Current managing director Kathleen Eads is moving to Jamestown, NY, where she will serve as executive director of the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts.

Casting has been announced for the Los Angeles return engagement of Disney's THE LION KING. Los Angeles' most eagerly awaited stage production ever will leap onto the Hollywood Pantages stage from November 20, 2013 - January 12, 2014. The press opening night is Friday, November 22 at 8pm. The landmark musical will return to Los Angeles for the first time since its triumphant return engagement in November 2006, where the production played a sold-out run at Hollywood Pantages.
