Voctave to Release New Holiday Album THE SPIRIT OF THE SEASON: DELUXE EDITION

CLUB44 RECORDS has announced that Voctave, the acclaimed a capella group known for their soaring harmonies and intricate arrangements, will release the new holiday album The Spirit of the Season: Deluxe Edition in digital, streaming and CD formats on Friday, October 22. 

MET STARS LIVE IN CONCERT Continues With Bryn Terfel

Welsh bass-baritone Bryn Terfel will perform a holiday program with special musical guests, on Saturday, December 12, at 7:00pm CET/1:00pm ET, from the historic Brecon Cathedral in his native Wales, as part of the Met Stars Live in Concert pay-per-view series.

Dean Griffey & Amy Owens in a George London Foundation Recital at The Morgan

Two American opera singers noted for their theatricality – one on the rise, the other an international star – headline the second George London Foundation recital of the season. Anthony Dean Griffey, the renowned tenor whose searing interpretation of the title role of Britten's Peter Grimes, among others, has brought him worldwide acclaim, and Amy Owens, a “scene-stealing” (Broadway World) “radiant soprano” (Opera News) who won an award at the 2018 George London Awards competition, perform the second George London Foundation Recital of the season at The Morgan Library and Museum on Sunday, March 24, 2019, at 4:00 pm. They are joined by Warren Jones at the piano, and guest artists David Heiss, cello, and Cindy Wu, violin.

Carnegie Hall Celebrates The Holiday Season With Festive Concerts

Carnegie Hall celebrates the holiday season with a variety of festive concerts this December. On Friday, December 21 at 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, December 22 at 8:00 p.m., Broadway's original Mary Poppins Ashley Brown rings in the holiday season with The New York Pops and Music Director Steven Reineke with Essential Voices USA offering two evenings of classic and contemporary carols including “Deck the Halls,” “Winter Wonderland,” and “I'll Be Home for Christmas.”

2017 Schwabacher Debut Recitals Continue April 9 with THE WOODS: A ROM-COM RECITAL

The 34th season of Schwabacher Debut Recitals continues on Sunday,April 9 at 5:30 p.m. in the Dianne and Tad Taube Atrium Theater with mezzo-soprano Renee Rapier, bass Anthony Reed and pianist and San Francisco Opera Head of Music Staff John Churchwell. They will present The Woods: A Rom-Com Recital, a series of songs by American composers compiled by Reed into a narrative with original dialogue. The performance will be directed by first-year San Francisco Opera Adler Fellow Aria Umezawa.

The panel will include University Press of Kentucky editorial board member and former Courier-JournalEditor-in-Chief David Hawpe, project visionary Allan Weiss, internationally recognized expert on American quilts Shelly Zegart, musicologist and director of the John Jacob Niles Center for American Music Ron Pen, and Tommy Hines, executive director of South Union Shaker Village and Kentucky furniture authority.
