NBC Sports Group's comprehensive coverage of the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs begins with five first-round games on Wednesday night, the first night of two months of Stanley Cup Playoff hockey – and “There's Nothing Like Playoff Hockey.” In order to televise as many as five games on a given day/night during the first round, NBC Sports Group will present matchups on NBC, NBCSN and NHL Network, as well as NBCUniversal's USA Network, the No. 1 cable entertainment network, and CNBC, NBCUniversal's business channel.

The NHL on NBC continues its “Push for the Playoffs” this week with a “Star Sunday” doubleheader, highlighted by the NHL Game of the Week on Sunday at noon ET on NBC, as Zach Parise and the Minnesota Wild host Henrik Zetterberg and the Detroit Red Wings.

 The defending Stanley Cup champions take center stage on Wednesday Night Rivalry this week in an intra-state clash, when Sidney Crosby and the red-hot Pittsburgh Penguins visit Wayne Simmonds and the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

This weekend's NHL Stanley Cup Playoff coverage is highlighted by a Saturday night primetime showdown on NBC between Alex Ovechkin and Sidney Crosby, as the Washington Capitals host the Pittsburgh Penguins in Game 2 of their series at 8 p.m. ET.
