Rude Frenchmen, cancan dancers, the Lady of the Lake and her Laker Girls, killer rabbits, catapulting cows and the somwhat odd knights who say 'ni' are just part of the adventures and dangers awaiting King Arthur and his knights of the very, very, very, round table in Monty Python's Spamalot at the Washington Crossing Open Air Theatre through Sunday, July 26. Performances are Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 7:30 pm.

Christian Slater has been announced to play Sir Galahad in the Hollywood Bowl's upcoming production of Monty Python's Spamalot, the parody of the Arthurian Legend which won the Tony for Best Musical in 2005.

The Hollywood Bowl's upcoming production of Monty Python'sSpamalot, the parody of the Arthurian Legend which won the Tony for Best Musical in 2005, will star Merle Dandridge as The Lady of the Lake, Warwick Davis as Patsy,Jesse Tyler Ferguson as Sir Robin, Eric Idle as the Historian and Craig Robinson as King Arthur. BT McNicholl will direct. Spamalot will be conducted by Todd Ellison and choreographed by Scott Taylor. Additional casting is to be announced.

Monty Python's SPAMALOT is a musical comedy adapted from the 1975 film 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail ' which was a highly irreverent parody of the legend of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. Monty Python is considered both parody and satire. There are abundant examples of both at work in this production. Among the things parodied are Broadway musicals (in general) and Andrew Lloyd Webber (specifically) repeatedly. The original production was the winner of the 2005 Tony Award for Best Musical.

Today in 2005, Spamalot opened at the Shubert Theatre, where it ran for 1575 performances. Monty Python's Spamalot is a musical comedy 'lovingly ripped off from' the 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Like the film, it is a highly irreverent parody of the Arthurian Legend, but it differs from the film in many ways, especially in its parodies of Broadway theatre. Eric Idle, a member of the Monty Python team, wrote the musical's book and lyrics and collaborated with John Du Prez on most of the music. The original 2005 Broadway production, directed by Mike Nichols, won three Tony Awards, including the Tony Award for Best Musical of the 2004-2005 season and received 14 Tony Award nominations.

Four productions still remain in Geva Theatre Center's 42nd Season: A Body of Water, Lee Blessing's play of memory and identity; The Mountaintop, a reimagining of Martin Luther King's last night on earth; the world premiere of Cass Morgan's journey to discover her roots - The Road to Where; and the season's grand finale, the laugh-out-loud comedy Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike. The 2014-2015 Season continued Geva's innovative efforts to connect patrons and artists and art with the community. The 2015-2016 Season will continue to build on that and also usher in a new era as Geva's historic home begins to undergo renovation and transformation.

The Knights of the Round Table brought a hilarious production to the stage at the South Bend Civic Theater on March 14, 2015. Monty Python's Spamalot was opened on the South Bend Civic stage on March 13th, and will continue to run until April 4th. This zany musical brought great humor, acting, and vocals from a talented cast directed by Mark Abram-Copenhaver.

Monty Python legend, Michael Palin has beaten off stiff competition from Brian May, Professor Brian Cox, Hugh Bonneville, Michael Ball and Eric Idle to appear on screen during each performance of Spamalot at The Edinburgh Playhouse from 16 - 21 March as part of Monty Python's Spamalot UK Tour.

A funny thing happened on the way to Handel's MESSIAH: That would be Monty Python's LIFE OF BRIAN, transformed from the film by Eric Idle (the jokes) and John Du Prez (the music) into NOT THE MESSIAH (HE'S A VERY NAUGHTY BOY). From the creators for the hit Broadway musical Spamalot, Not The Messiah (He's a Very Naughty Boy) is a comic oratorio based on Monty Python's movie The Life of Brian. Described by Eric Idle as 'Baroque-N-Roll,' Not The Messiah features a lively pastiche of musical styles ranging from pop, country, and Broadway to doo-wop, hip hop, and Greek chorus. Eric Idle, the famous member of the absurdist-comedy collective Monty Python, recently joined forces with composer John Du Prez to create 'Not the Messiah (He's a Very Naughty Boy),' a zany pastiche based on Monty Python's 1979 film 'The Life of Brian,' and Handel's Messiah.

The Collegiate Chorale presents the New York City premiere of Eric Idle and John Du Prez's Not The Messiah (He's a Very Naughty Boy) at Carnegie Hall, tonight and tomorrow, December 15-16, 2014 at 8pm.
