Westport Country Playhouse will present a Script in Hand playreading of the romantic comedy/drama, "Lobby Hero" by Kenneth Lonergan, 2017 Academy Award winner for Best Original Screenplay for "Manchester by the Sea," on Monday, March 13, at 7 p.m.
The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts has announced the full casting for the world premiere of Bud, Not Buddy, a new play by Obie Award winner Kirsten Greenidge, adapted from Christopher Paul Curtis's acclaimed Newbury Medal winning novel, with music by world-renowned jazz artist and composer Terence Blanchard.
Wave Productions will present the World Premiere of Charles Cissel's WALLOP, directed by Robin A. Paterson, with dramaturgy by Karen Brown. Previews begin October 10 at Robert Moss Theatre with opening slated for October 16.
This winter, Alexander Greenfield - Associate Director of the acclaimed Broadway production of Outside Mullingar and The City of Conversation at Lincoln Center - directs Libra Theater Company's production of Tom Diggs' new play KIND SOULS, performing January 16 - February 1 at Theatre 54. The cast includes Lindsey Kyler (The Seagull at New York Classical Theatre) and John Clarence Stewart (Choir Boy at Manhattan Theatre Club / The Alliance Theatre). Opening is slated for January 18.
Rehearsals started today for the Alliance Theatre's upcoming world premiere BULL DURHAM, a new musical based on the beloved 1988 film, which Sports Illustrated proclaimed to be the '#1 Greatest Sports Movie of All-time.' Directed by Kip Fagan (Off-Broadway: The Revisionist), BULL DURHAM has a book by Academy Award-nominee Ron Shelton (director and screenwriter of the Bull Durham movie) and music and lyrics by Susan Werner, whom the Chicago Tribune called, 'one of the most innovative songwriters working today.'
