Last night the Barrington Stage Company Musical Theatre Lab presented the East Coast Premiere of Nick Blaemire's A Little More Alive on the St. Germain Stage of the Sydelle & Lee Blatt Performing Arts Center and Broadwayworld was there.

Alysha Umphress has a special relationship with Barrington Stage Company and William Finn so it wasn't a surprise that on her day off  from On The Town she came to Pittsfield and sang in Mr. Finn's Cabaret.  It also wasn't a surprise the demand for tickets was so great that a second late show had to be added.

54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents "24@54' on May 25 at 9:30pm. Hosted by Obie award winning writer-composer Polly Pen (Bed and Sofa, Arlington) it will feature original songs from NYU's Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program's cycle 24. Broadway <3 Canines for Kids is a Valentine's themed concert that celebrates love. The one night only event will benefit Canines for Disabled Kids, a non-profit organization that provides service dogs for disabled children. The evening will feature Broadway performers interpreting songs by emerging musical theater writers.

This beautiful and haunting story explores a woman dealing with her brilliant but mentally unstable father's death and how much madness and / or genius she will inherit. Proof is directed by Gallery veteran Mark Gallagher (Equus, The History Boys), and features the talents of Justine Campbell-Elliott, John Blaylock*, Bonnie Wickeraad* and David Gazzo. Proof will open tonight, October 25, 2014 at 8pm and run through November 9, 2014.

Studio Six co-founder Ben Sargent will direct a cast of eleven including Stewart Alden, Cameron Berner, John Blaylock, David M. Farrington, Doug Hartwyk, Sarah Michelle McAvoy, Pete Macnamara, Samantha Opitz, Benjamin Russell, Najla Said, and RaShelle Stocker. Woman at the Funerals will be staged for 16 performances at IATI Theater, 64 East 4th Street in NYC from June 13-29, 2014.

Ben Sargent will direct a cast of twelve including Stewart Alden, Cameron Berner, John Blaylock*, Tonya Marie Canady, David M. Farrington, Doug Hartwyk, Sarah Michelle McAvoy*, Pete Macnamara, Samantha Opitz, Benjamin Russell, Najla Said*, and RaShelle Stocker. *Member, Actors' Equity Association.

The Mysterium Theatre's production of the musical ASSASSINS is set to open tomorrow night, May 31, and run through June 30. The show performs on Friday and Saturdays at 8:01pm and Sundays at 7:01pm, and on June 8 and 15, there will also be a matinee performance at 2:01pm.
