Director Jessie Roberts leads an award-winning cast and crew in bringing this production to the Alden stage. Unnecessary Farce combines all the elements of a classic farce with a contemporary American plot: the police procedural. This side-splitting show will have its 200th production this year. The Weston Friendly Society presents 'Once Upon a Mattress'
Based upon the timeless fairy tale of the Princess and the Pea, 'Once Upon a Mattress' tells the story of Prince Dauntless, the heir to his kingdom, who is still looking for a wife that his mother, the Queen,
will approve. This hilarious comedy, good for all ages, follows the Prince and his many potential wives through the Queen's tests to determine if the candidates are 'true princesses of the royal blood.' When Princess Winnifred the Wobegone comes on the scene, the Prince is sure he has found his match.
